Beginning March 17th, Bar Nana will host 'Cabaret on the Rocks.' Each Monday night at 9PM (doors at 8PM), top Broadway performers will bring live music and entertainment to the intimate scene of Bar Nana. Below is a list of performers and their scheduled dates.

Coming up this week, 54 BELOW, the performance venue located just below the legendary Studio 54 at 254 West 54th Street, presents some of the brightest stars from Broadway, cabaret, jazz and beyond:

The combination of fine dining and wonderful music continues at the world famous Le Cirque's Musical Mondays. This week it was Australian Jazz Pianist Matt Baker and his trio along with New York's own award winning vocalist Marissa Mulder. Matt Baker tied 5th place in the 2003 Montreux International Solo Jazz Piano competition and was a semi-finalist in 2004 and 2005. The Montreux Jazz Festival also engaged The Matt Baker Trio as their exclusive in-house band 2 years straight. Marissa Mulder has recently received the Julie Wilson Award at the Mabel Mercer Cabaret Convention and is a favorite of New York audiences.

Whether you call yourself Parisian or you're just visiting the City of Love, Broadway au Carre is the new hot ticket in Paris to get your American musical theatre fix, along with a good glass of red wine.

Manhattan Association of Cabarets and Clubs (MAC), dedicated to advancing the art and business of live entertainment, has announced the nominees for the 2014 MAC Awards. Winners in twenty-five categories will be voted by the MAC membership by anonymous ballot and announced at the MAC Awards Gala on March 27th at BB King's Blue Club in Times Square at: 237 W. 42 St between 7th and 8th Avenues. Ocean State Theatre Company (OSTC), currently celebrating its first full season in its new state-of-the-art theatre in Warwick, will present Rhode Island's own Nicolas King in concert for a one-night-only event on Sunday, March 2 at 7:30 pm.

Peggy Herman just brought 'Herman on Herman,' her tribute to Broadway legend Jerry Herman, to the Laurie Beechman Theatre. The concert featured many of the songs from the show's premiere in May of 2011, plus additional material that was added to the project in the intervening months. 'When it comes to musical celebrity biographies, for stage or screen, whether it's 'Incendiary Blonde' or 'Love Me or Leave Me' or 'Funny Girl,' for that matter, the plots usually tend to be highly fictionalized,' says Tony Finstrom, who's just written a new musical biography for the stage titled 'GLAMOUR GIRL!, The Jan McArt Story.'

Having written a plethora of words about Marissa Mulder over the past couple of years, I had planned on relegating a review of her mid-November, two-show run at the Cafe Carlyle to a relatively short critique in my seasonal compilation column (due to post a day or two or three before Santa arrives, for those keeping score at home). But once I got started I went way over my self-imposed word count for such things and decided it should be broken out into this stand-alone review. Speaking of 'breakout,' although the first known use of the phrase 'breakout year' came 35 years ago, it has become the standard expression in sports or entertainment when referring to someone who has become a sudden or smashing success, especially in comparison to past efforts. If anyone in the world of New York cabaret could be said to have had a 'breakout year' in 2013, it would have to be Marissa Mulder. And this angelic young woman-in voice, looks, and personality-hasn't even hit 30 yet.

If you're wondering whether or not 2013 was a fantastic year for the cabaret art form in New York, all you have to do is scan the amazing list of nominees for this year's BroadwayWorld New York Cabaret Awards and you'll know it was one of the best ever. So now it's time for all you cabaret performers and fans to vote for the best singers, musicians, songs, and shows of the year. Voting will continue until Sunday night January 5 and the winners will be announced later that week. We hope that all the winners will be able to perform in the Award show on Sunday night February 23 at Joe's Pub.

Cafe Carlyle, the New York City bastion of classic cabaret entertainment, just presented the historic venue's debut of multi-award winning singer Jennifer Sheehan, continuing Friday, Oct. 25, when she performs her critically acclaimed show 'YOU MADE ME LOVE YOU - Timeless Classics and New Treasures from the American Songbook.' ANDREA MARCOVCCI is turning sixty-five this November! The tour kicks into high gear when it arrives on the east coast where Andrea debuts at both Joe's Pub (at the Public Theatre) in New York City and The Landmark Theatre in Pt. Washington, NY (Andrea's only scheduled Long Island appearance.) Plus - a return, after eight years, to the Emelin Theatre in Mamaroneck, NY and an appearance at the new RRazz Room in New Hope, PA (More details below). What better way to celebrate her birthday, than to honor the singers and songwriters of the 1940's and '50's that inspired the current Queen of Cabaret. The new show, "Moonlight Cocktail," began in Los Angeles at Tom Rolla's Gardenia in preparation for Andrea's debut at Michael Feinstein's latest club - Feinstein's at the Nikko in San Francisco, and went on to an acclaimed engagement at Davenport's in Chicago.

The evening is a centenary celebration of the lyrics of Sammy Cahn and the music of Jimmy Van Heusen and was conceived and directed by Grammy and Emmy Award winner, John McDaniel, during his first season as artistic director of the O'Neill Theater Center's Cabaret and Performance conference. Mr. McDaniel makes his New York directorial debut with this show.
