Following six sold out shows, The Laurie Beechman Theatre will continue their hit series, SONDHEIM UNPLUGGED for a seventh installment, Friday, October 1 at 7pm.

Act II Playhouse opens its 12th season of live theatre in Ambler with the Philadelphia premiere of john & jen, written by Andrew Lippa and Tom Greenwald. This original chamber musical about family connections - which recalls the 'Forrest Gump' era - will be on stage Sept. 21-Oct. 17; Opening Night is on Friday, Sept. 24.

Tony Award-winning actress Idina Menzel opens the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra season with three performances September 24th through September 26th. Ms. Menzel will perform a diverse repertoire of classic pop, musical theater favorites (including hits from Wicked and Rent) as well as songs from her album, I Stand.

Dancing With The Stars finalist and N'SYNC star Lance Bass joins The Good Wife's Graham Phillips as presenters for the third annual Broadway in South Africa (BSA) benefit concert. The show will premiere new works, created for the evening, by such composers as Grammy Award winners Desmond Child and Julie Gold, to be performed by Broadway stars, like Tony Award winner Alice Ripley and Ariana Grande (Nickelodeon's Victorious).

On Monday, September 13, The Actors Fund hosted a party for 'The Friends of The Lillian Booth Actors Home' at Gloria Crest, in Englewood, NJ, the former estate of film legend Gloria Swanson and now the home of the evening's hosts Jan and Edward Turen. The Turens welcomed Tony Award-winning actor Brian Stokes Mitchell, and the evening's entertainment host Emmy and Tony Award-winning actress Bebe Neuwirth. Emmy and Tony Award winner Leslie Uggams, Tony Award-nominated actor/singer Tom Wopat and singer-songwriter-pianist Peter Cincotti and his band, among others performed. In celebration of Westport Country Playhouse 80th season, an audience of over 500 attended the historic theater's annual fundraising gala, 'The Magical Music of Stephen Schwartz,' honoring the musical theater composer, on Monday evening, September 13.
