HBO's season two premiere of GIRLS debuted to 866,000 viewers last night - while its creator, Lena Dunham, was busy winning a Golden Globe for 'Best TV Comedy Actress.'

Emmy(R)-Winning Comedy Series GIRLS, created by and starring Lena Dunham will return for Second Season tonight, Jan. 13, Exclusively on HBO. Guest stars this season will include Andrew Rannells, Donald Glover, Chris O'Dowd, Rita Wilson, Jorma Taccone, Rosanna Arquette, Carol Kane and Patrick Wilson.

The Broadcast Film Critics Association (BFCA) announced the winners of the 18th annual Critics' Choice Movie Awards last night.

TVGuide.com reports that 'Book of Mormon' star Andrew Rannells will be giving up his role on the HBO comedy series GIRLS midway through the current season. In an interview with The Huffington Post, the 'Next to Normal' star revealed that taking on two series at once proved too much for him.

They join previously announced George Clooney, Meryl Streep, Jennifer Garner , Debra Messing, Kerry Washington, Nathan Fillion, Jason Statham, Jennifer Lopez, Kristen Wiig, Jeremy Renner, Amanda Seyfried and Will Ferrell in the all-star group that will grace the stage of the International Ballroom of the Beverly Hilton.

Fueled By Ramen has announced the release of 'GIRLS - VOLUME 1: MUSIC FROM THE HBO ORIGINAL SERIES,' the musical companion to the acclaimed comedy series. The album arrives in stores and all DSPs today, January 8th, with the hugely anticipated second season of Girls slated to premiere on HBO on January 13th (check local listings).

Chelsea Peretti was most recently a writer on the Emmy-nominated NBC show Parks and Recreation and can be seen in the Special All-Star Comedy Issue of Vanity Fair. Judd Apatow describes Peretti as "one of six truly inspired comics doing great work right now."

60 MINUTES is on Nielsen's Top 10 List again, making it for the fourth consecutive broadcast. It was also the eighth time over 13 broadcasts this season that 60 MINUTES finished among America's 10 most-watched programs. Sunday's edition drew 10.3 million viewers to land at #7 for the week.

While still holding on to the number one spot at this weekend's box office, THE HOBBIT, Peter Jackson's much-anticipated film saw a 57% drop off in its second week in theaters, according to EW.com. The film earned an estimated $36.7 million, bringing its ten-day gross to $149.9 million.

Universal Pictures today announced that 2012 will mark its best year at the worldwide box office in the studio's 100-year history with global theatrical grosses exceeding $2.927 billion to date. Universal broke its domestic record ($1.127 billion) in October and the studio will surpass its international record ($1.716 billion) Friday, December 21.

BBC AMERICA's General Manager Perry Simon today ordered a full season of The Nerdist, a comedy-variety talk show based on comedian, writer, Doctor Who evangelist and web pundit Chris Hardwick's hit Nerdist Podcast. The season will premiere in Spring 2013 as part of the channel's signature Supernatural Saturday programming block, also home to Doctor Who, Being Human and new original series Orphan Black. Along with The Nerdist series, Chris Hardwick will be fronting the entire Supernatural Saturday programming block in the spring.
