Rodgers + Hammerstein's CINDERELLA, the 2013 Tony Award-winning Broadway musical from the creators of South Pacific and The Sound of Music, will play at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County's Ziff Ballet Opera House for a limited engagement starting October 28 through November 2, 2014. The cast and crew of CINDERELLA have already polished their performance to a brilliant shine; this tour is Broadway quality in every particular, brimming with talent, and an utter delight and a joy to watch. From singing and dancing to costumes and sets, Rodgers + Hammerstein's CINDERELLA is one of the highest caliber shows to play PPAC in recent years.

What I found so utterly engaging about the world premiere of Steve Martin and Edie Brickell's new musical BRIGHT STAR is its complete unpretentiousness. Certainly its musical style --American bluegrass with a heaping helping of laid back mountain charm -- has the kind of lilting homespun ease that makes you feel like you're listening to the neighborhood jug band on mama's back porch, and there's something oddly comforting about that.

The Old Globe presents World Premiere of Bright Star, a new American musical featuring music by Edie Brickell and Steve Martin, lyrics by Brickell, and book by Martin, based on an original story by Martin and Brickell. Currently appearing in Cinderella are Keke Palmer in the title role, Joe Carroll as Prince Topher, Sherri Shepherd as Madame (until Nov. 23) , Judy Kaye as the Fairy Godmother, Ann Harada as stepsister Charlotte, Stephanie Gibson as stepsister Gabrielle, Peter Bartlett as Sebastian, Prince Topher's mentor and Lord Chancellor, Todd Buonopane as the rebel Jean-Michel and Phumzile Sojola as Lord Pinkleton.
