Broadway producer Rocco Landesman was born and raised in St. Louis, where his family owned the Crystal Palace, a Gaslight Square cabaret that featured cutting edge theater and performers. Landesman developed and produced the Broadway musical Big River, which won 7 Tony Awards in 1985.

Tony Nominee Ms. Brenda Braxton originated the role of Clarity Jones in Donna Moore's surprise Off-Broadway hit Cougar the Musical and will reprise her role now that her successful tour of Thoroughly Modern Millie has come to an end. Now in its ninth month, Cougar the Musical, continues to offer new blocks of tickets for the summer, now through July 27, 2013.

Brighton Fringe has launched its 2013 programme online, offering a huge variety of 685 shows (and counting) with 3275 performances and 210 premieres in 178 venues with 38 international acts and 220 home-grown Brighton shows which makes it the richest and largest yet. Not only this but this year England's biggest arts festival lasts longer, running an extra week from tonight, 4 May to 2 June to incorporate both spring bank holidays and half term.

During the 30's and 40's this was one of New York City's hottest night clubs, the place where the music of Billie, Ella, Dinah, Sarah, Duke, and Dizzy became legendary. In an effort to recapture that bygone glory, the theater is presenting Apollo Club Harlem, an enterprising and captivating attempt not only to revive the jazz spirit of 125th Street, but rekindle it as well for a new generation of jazz and pop music enthusiasts.

During that time every conceivable space in the South Coast city is transformed into a place of creative celebration. Throughout the merry month of May, Brighton positively buzzes with activity. From theatre to dance, comedy to music, visual art to literary events, high flying installations, dance and circus, there is something for everyone throughout the day and long into the spring evenings for what is always a highlight in the UK's arts calendar. And true to Brighton's slightly rebellious nature there will be plenty of surprises that could only happen in Britain's favourite seaside city.
