Ruffalo Cast in Film Adaptation of Kramer's 'The Normal Heart'

MTV.com reports that Mark Ruffalo ('The Kids Are All Right,' AWAKE AND SING!) has signed on to play 'Ned Weeks' in Larry Kramer's film adaptation of his play THE NORMAL HEART. 'Glee' creator Ryan Murphy is reported to be involved, though it is unclear whether he is producing or directing. A production schedule and release date have not yet been announced.
FIRST KIDS Original Musical Workshop To Be Presented 7/1-25

The workshop starts July 1 and runs through July 25, 4:00 - 10:00 pm, Monday through Friday. This is an opportunity to work with Tony Winners Murphy Cross and Paul Kreppel. Along with the original writer Abraham Tetenbaum and original composer Norman Berman. The show will perform 2 weekends and will accommodate 2 full casts. The first cast has been chosen but there is room in the second cast for those who would still like to audition.

The Public Theater (Artistic Director Oskar Eustis; Executive Director Andrew D. Hamingson) announced today that Director of Special Projects Maria Goyanes will assume the position of Associate Producer, effective September 1, 2010. Goyanes has been on staff at The Public since 2004 and was instrumental in launching the theater's successful Public LAB series.

Producers Jed Bernstein and Adam Zotovich announced today that Tony Award-winners James Earl Jones and Vanessa Redgrave will return to the New York stage this Fall to star opposite one another in the Broadway Premiere of Alfred Uhry‘s Pulitzer Prize-winning play, Driving Miss Daisy. Directed by David Esbjornson (The Goat, Or Who Is Sylvia?), Driving Miss Daisy will begin performances on October 7, 2010, at the John Golden Theatre (252 West 45th Street), with an official opening on Monday, October 25, 2010.

The Public Theater's critically acclaimed rock musical BLOODY BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON will close on Sunday, June 27. A co-production with Center Theatre Group and in association with Les Freres Corbusier, BLOODY BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON is written and directed by Alex Timbers and features music and lyrics by Michael Friedman. BLOODY BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON began previews on March 23 and was originally scheduled to close on April 25.

Sam Waterston and Brian Murray will star in Simon Gray's THE OLD MASTERS, which will have its United States premiere at the Long Wharf Theatre in New Haven, Connecticut, courant.com's 'Behind the Curtain' blog reports. The production will run from January 19 to February 13 and is expected to transfer to Broadway with John Martello and Elliot Martin producing.
