Here is a list of some of my favorite theatre experiences in San Diego in 2022! This is by no means a complete list of everything that was excellent in this past year, but now we get to turn towards 2023 and all of the fantastic theatre that is sure to come our way.

This rarely done musical was last produced in San Diego by Ion Theatre in 2016. Artistic Director, J. Scott Lapp and Managing Producer, Jordan Beck announces the casting of Sunday in the Park with George running February 17 - March 5, 2023.

Jason Graae brings his Graaetest (not a typo!) Hits – The Sequel to the El Portal October 21, 2022, accompanied by musical director Gerald Sternbach. I got a chance to catch up with Jerry after years of path-crossing at benefits and concerts.

Award-winning actor/director Frank Ferrante re-creates his acclaimed New York and London stage portrayal celebrating America's greatest comedian - Groucho Marx.  You will feel as though Groucho is back, as Ferrante sings, dances and performs classic routines on the North Coast Rep stage, May 2nd & 3rd, 2022 at 7:30pm.

J. Scott Lapp directs the industry readings of the new musical with a book by Robert L. Freedman on November 20th at 4pm and November 21st at 2pm at the California Center for the Arts, Escondido.
