Roundabout Theatre Company, in association with Ryan Murphy, has announced†final casting for Eugene O'Neill's Long Day's Journey Into Night, starring Academy and Emmy Award winner Jessica Lange as 'Mary Tyrone,' Golden Globe winner and Tony Award nominee Gabriel Byrne as 'James Tyrone,' Academy Award nominee Michael Shannon as 'James Tyrone, Jr.,' and Tony Award winner John Gallagher Jr. as 'Edmund Tyrone.' Colby Minifie joins the previously announced cast as 'Cathleen.' Jonathan Kent will direct, as part of Roundabout Theatre Company's 50th anniversary season. (more...)

Sacha Wares†will be returning to Almeida Theatre to direct the world premiere of†Leo Butler's new play†Boy,†after her directorial success with the critically acclaimed production,†Game, by Mike Bartlett, in 2015. †Boy†will run at the Almeida Theatre from†5 April†until†28 May 2016, with press night on†12 April 2016.†Director†Sacha Wares†is joined by a formidable creative team, including two powerhouse contemporary designers,†Miriam Buether†for set design†(Wild Swans, Sucker Punch, My Child, Generations),†who worked with Sacha on†Game†at the Almeida in 2015, and†Ultz†for costume†(Jerusalem, Hobson's Choice, Fallout, Pied Pier), who will be collaborating with Miriam, on design, for the very first time.†Further creative credits include movement by†Leon Baugh, lighting by†Jack Knowles†and sound by†Gareth Fry. Happy Birthday, Ralph Fiennes! Fiennes' 2006 performance in the play Faith Healer gained him a nomination for a 2007 Tony Award. In 2008, Fiennes worked with frequent collaborator director Jonathan Kent to play the title role in Sophocles's Oedipus the King at The National Theatre in London. He has appeared in films such as The English Patient, In Bruges, The Constant Gardener, Strange Days and Maid in Manhattan. He is also well known for his portrayals of three infamous villains: Nazi war criminal Amon Goth in Schindler's List, serial killer Francis Dolarhyde in the 2002 film Red Dragon, and Lord Voldemort in the Harry Potter film series. Most recently, he appeared in The Reader (2008), The Hurt Locker (2009) and as Hades in Clash of the Titans (2010). (more...)

More good news, Baz Bamingboye reports in the UK Daily Mail that Broadway could indeed be next, writing 'We are actively pursuing and trying to work out the right way to go to New York with Imelda in Gypsy,' said Michael Harrison, who produced the show with David Ian.
