Producers Michael Harrison and David Ian today announce that Jonathan Kent's 5 star production of Gypsy starring Imelda Staunton has smashed the all time box office record at the Savoy Theatre taking £408,300 for performances ending 25 April 2015. Harrison and Ian said: 'We are thrilled that this amazing record has been achieved in the 1089 seat Savoy Theatre and are delighted that we have been able to extend our run through November this year.' Welles has agreed to direct Olivier and Joan Plowright in a production of Eugene Ionesco's masterpiece Rhinoceros. Jonathan Kent's critically acclaimed production of Gypsy starring Imelda Staunton as the indomitable Rose today announces an extension to the run at the Savoy Theatre with booking now to 28 November 2015. Kent's production originally opened at the Chichester Festival Theatre in October last year with the West End transfer opening last week when the production received a second set of five star reviews. Stephen Daldry's production will preview at the Apollo Theatre from 21 April 2015, with press night on 5 May 2015 and is booking to 25 July 2015.
