Studio 180 Theatre with fu-GEN Asian Canadian Theatre Company announced that acclaimed stage and screen actors Rosie Simon (Star Trek: Discovery) and John Ng 伍健琪 (CBC's Kim's Convenience) will star in the Canadian premiere of The Chinese Lady by American playwright Lloyd Suh.

South Coast Repertory and Playwrights Horizons have announced that playwright Branden Jacobs-Jenkins has been awarded the first Pinnacle Commission.

The Trisha Brown Dance Company has announced its first choreographic commission in celebration of the legacy of groundbreaking choreographer Trisha Brown.

The Artists' Legacy Foundation has announced that Juan Sánchez (b. 1954)-the influential Nuyorican artist who explores ethnic, racial, and national identity in his multimedia work-is the recipient of its 2022 Artist Award.

San Francisco Playhouse announced casting for Indecent by Paula Vogel, the first production in the Playhouse's 20th Anniversary Season. The play will run on the San Francisco Playhouse Mainstage from September 22 through November 5, 2022. Susi Damilano will direct, with music direction by Dmitri Gaskin and choreography by Nicole Helfer.

Out of the Box Theatrics announced they will produce the first Off-Broadway revival of the critically acclaimed musical, Floyd Collins. The production, to be directed by Christina Sajous (Broadway’s SpongeBob SquarePants, Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark, American Idiot; Out of the Box Theatrics’ 2019 production of Baby), will play from November 11 through December 18, 2022.

After a two-year postponement, the Trisha Brown Dance Company will celebrate its 50th anniversary at The Joyce Theater (May 24-29) with an historical season commemorating Brown’s extraordinary partnership with visual artist Robert Rauschenberg. 

“Third Thursdays,” the free monthly photography presentation and artist talk series at Mercer County Community College's (MCCC's) James Kerney Campus Gallery (JKCG) at 137 North Broad Street in Trenton, will take place May 19 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. The event, curated by Heather Palecek and Habiyb Shu'Aib, will feature work by Aaron Turner and Wendel White.

The Joyce Theater Foundation will honor the conclusion of Pride 2022 with the Joyce debut of boundary-shattering movement artist Christopher Williams. The New York premiere of selections from his series of queer interpretations of renowned classical ballets will play The Joyce Theater from June 28-July 3.

Cathy Weis Projects will present two Sundays on Broadway events in May. The evenings will feature new and in-progress works by seven stellar dance artists.
