What did our critic think of TCandlelight Music Theatre normally plays it safe when scheduling a season. That’s’ why Aisle Say was surprised that “THE MYSTERY OF EDWIN DROOD” was part of this year’s season. And more so for the musical was written by Rupert Holmes, whose most prominent claim to fame was his #1 Billboard hit, the romantically funny tune, “The Pina Colada Song”. (To give Holmes his due, the musical won the Tony for Best Musical in 1986).HE MYSTERY OF EDWIN DROOD at Candlelight Music Theatre?

Hello Dolly! Opened on Broadway in 1964 with the irrepressible, wide-eyed, charismatic Carol Channing in the title role, winning 10 Tony’s including Best Musical and Best Actress for Channing. The show was her signature and, to understate, she held it close. An understudy once remarked that she was looking forward to subbing in for her. “Don’t hold your breath, sister”. Channing played the part over 5000 times.

Candlelight Theatre continues to astound. While regional professional theatres are going from six week runs to three (see DE Theatre Co), the funky old barn in the bowels of sylvan Arden continues to welcome sold out crowds for a full six.

Fulton Theatre will present a Benefit Concert of Ahrens and Flaherty's Ragtime on July 15, 2023. The cast of 64 will be directed by Marc Robin and the 28 piece orchestra will be led by Ben McNaboe.

Set during the Scare(s) of the 1950s, Better Red Than Dead features wacky twists on the fate of historical figures and reminds audiences that everything is not always as it seems. Better Red Than Dead will have its in-person premiere at PrideFest 2022 at The Tank.

The clipper ship, The City of Adelaide (also known as The Carrick) is one of only two surviving in the world. Built in Sunderland, England, by William Pile, Hay, and Co., and launched on 7th May 1864, it is older than the Cutty Sark. Between 1864 and 1887 the ship made 23 annual return voyages from London and Plymouth to Adelaide, South Australia. During this period she played an important part in migration to Australia.

Organisers have announced a return to live folk music at the 42nd Cork Folk Festival, happening across Cork city from Wednesday 29th September to Sunday 3rd October 2021.

Warner Bros. Pictures Presents An Atlas Entertainment/Peter Safran Production, A James Gunn Film, “The Suicide Squad.” The film will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures.

The virtual ceremony was hosted by Loni Love, which saw winners accept their awards from their own homes. The big winners for the night were Elena of Avalor which won three Daytime Emmys, as well as Rapunzel’s Tangled Adventure which also received three.
