It is New York City, 1976, and we meet five members of the first Television Generation: Jerry, a struggling actor, his girlfriend Ginny, a secretary, Steve, a prankish would-be poet and television writer, Bobby, a musician who has been scraping by with dates in small clubs in suburban New Jersey, and his girlfriend, Catherine, a beautiful and rather kinky airline stewardess.

"Les Liaisons Dangereuses," by Christopher Hampton, plays Newnan Theatre Company's Black Box April 19-29 Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 8:00 pm, Sundays at 3pm. The drama originated from a French epistolary novel by Choderlos de Laclos, first published in 1782. The two main characters, both so rich they have no concept of the value of money, feel they are above the law and free to play by their own rules. They pretend in public to be all they should be, but behind closed doors they reveal themselves as they truly are.

The Shakespeare Theatre Company has announced the addition of five intriguing fall and winter presentations from abroad for its 2012-2013 STC Presents Series. Three of the five presentations, hailing from the United Kingdom and Paris, will explore the psychology of war, the endurance of storytelling and the decadence of an era of aristocracy. The two other presentations will be one-man shows, based on Shakespeare, which will engage younger audiences in January as part of STC's Youth and Family Series.
