Celebrating their 37th season, The Hampton Theatre Company (HTC) offers a hilarious showing of David Lindsay-Abaire’s Ripcord. The entertaining two-act play seems to be the female version of/answer to The Odd Couple. We follow two very different people who try to make it work when they are assigned as roommates in assisted living. Well, one of them is trying to make it work, anyway. Laugher ensues when they start placing bets on certain things and both are, shall we say, competitive.

Roundabout Theatre Company will present the New York premiere of Birthday Candles by Noah Haidle, starring Emmy Award winner Debra Messing, directed by Vivienne Benesch, which begins previews tomorrow, March 18.

A Sherlock Carol has announced plans to return for the 2022 holiday season.  Written and directed by Mark Shanahan (NPR’s Ghost Light Series), the show is currently playing an eight-week limited holiday engagement at New World Stages (340 West 50th Street), and has two weeks of performances left, with a final performance on Sunday, January 2, 2022.

In the spirit of the holiday season, Westport Country Playhouse Radio Theater, a free-of-charge broadcast series, will reprise from last year the inventive audio play, “A Merry Little Christmas Carol,” airing on WSHU Radio on Saturday, December 25, at 3:06 p.m. (following the national news), with a rebroadcast on Sunday, December 26, at 3:06 p.m.

11th Hour Theatre Company is celebrating the holidays with a gorgeous, professionally-designed radio play version of the classic Charles Dickens tale. A Philadelphia Christmas Carol (based on Mark Shanahan's A Merry Little Christmas Carol) will feature some of the region's most recognizable performers from across the city's stages .

Fellowship for Performing Arts will return to live theatrical performances in Kansas City on Saturday, Sept. 11, at 4 p.m. with the hit national tour of C.S. Lewis' The Great Divorce. This acclaimed production shows Lewis “at his imaginative best,” as described by the Dallas Morning News. 

Westport Country Playhouse will add to its 2021 Season lineup the HD video production from its archives, “Of Mice and Men,” by Nobel Prize and Pulitzer Prize-winning author John Steinbeck, streaming on demand, Monday, September 13 through Sunday, September 26.

Ford's Theatre will forever be tied to the legacy of Abraham Lincoln who was assassinated there 156 years ago this week. So amid a lingering pandemic, the otherwise closed stage is offering a radio version of a work it commissioned nine years ago to coincide with the opening of the theater's Center for Education and Leadership.

Ford's Theatre has announced an audio drama adaptation of Richard Hellesen's Necessary Sacrifices, featuring acclaimed Washington actors Craig Wallace as Frederick Douglass and Paul Morella as Abraham Lincoln. Psalmayene 24 makes his Ford's directorial debut.
