The highly anticipated musical, The Visit, will begin performances at the Lyceum Theatre (149 West 45th Street) on Thursday, March 26 with an Opening Night set for Thursday, April 23. The cast is led by Tony Award® Winners Chita Rivera as Claire Zachannassian and Roger Rees as Anton Schell. John Kander, who wrote the music for the show, just celebrated his 88th birthday, and the company treated him to a birthday surprise during a break in rehearsal. Producers Scott Sanders, Roy Furman, Oprah Winfrey, David Babani, Tom Siracusa just announced that CYNTHIA ERIVO, the breakout star of the Menier Chocolate Factory production of THE COLOR PURPLE, will make her Broadway debut this fall when she reprises her acclaimed performance as Celie in John Doyle's critically heralded production. THE COLOR PURPLE will begin preview performances on Monday, November 9th at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre (242 West 45th street) and will officially open on Thursday, December 3.

The tour marks Carpenter's return to singing both timeless hits and deep cuts from her expansive and beloved 13-album catalog after performing with orchestras in early 2014. Carpenter will be joined on stage by long-time friends John Carroll (piano) and John Doyle (guitar and bouzouki).

From tonight, February 5, through February 14, Musical Theatre Factory (MTF) will present BOYS WHO TRICKED ME, the first fully staged showcase production to hit the Factory floor. The show, with book, music, and lyrics written by Ben Bonnema, is musically directed by Max Mamon, and directed by MTF Artistic Director, Shakina Nayfack.
