Aurora Theatre Company Announces Collaboration With Arion Press

Aurora Theatre Company announced today that Arion Press in San Francisco will print a limited edition handcrafted book of renowned American playwright Edward Albee's script for A DELICATE BALANCE; the book printing will coincide with Aurora Theatre Company's production of the play.

A BUTCHER OF DISTINCTION is immediately transferring to the King's Head Theatre in Islington to continue its season, after the sudden closure of The Cock Tavern Theatre. Resident company OperaUpClose has made scheduling changes to its opera rep season to accommodate this important new work. Rob Hayes, the 25-year-old award-winning playwright, made his London debut at The Cock Tavern Theatre this month with the World Premiere of A BUTCHER OF DISTINCTION, also published by Oberon Books.

Michael Riedel reports in the New York Post this morning that the famous hate-fest between Joan Crawford and Bette Davis is the inspiration of a new play that could hit the New York scene big as early as 2012. BETTE AND JOAN, as the play is called, receieved a private reading last week directed by Doug Hughes and starred Christine Ebersole (Bette Davis) and Jan Maxwell (Joan Crawford).

Two-time Tony Award-nominated Alison Fraser has joined the cast of David Ives' new comedy, THE SCHOOL FOR LIES, from the Molière classic The Misanthrope, directed by Tony Award winner Walter Bobbie, beginning performances Wednesday, April 13 at Classic Stage Company (136 East 13th Street) for a limited engagement through Sunday, May 22. The official press opening is Sunday, May 1 at 2 pm.
