On Monday, October 5th, Rattlestick Playwrights Theater (David van Asselt, Artistic Director) held its 15th Anniversary Gala Benefit at Caroline's Comedy Club. The celebratory evening was hosted by Rattlestick Benefit co-chairs Sandra Coudert, Lawrence Benenson and Colleen Jones. Guests included many of Rattlestick's distinguished alumni including playwrights Craig Wright, Lucy Thurber, Mando Alvarado and Adam Rapp, directors Lucie Tiberghien, Michael Ray Escamilla and Sam Gold, actors Thomas Sadoski, Deirdre O'Connell, Guy Boyd, Marylouise Burke, Matthew Stadelmann, Jessica Dickey and Bill Bowers, as well as many of the company's friends and longtime supporters.

Tony Award winner B.D. Wong will be joined by Anastasia Barzee, Clarke Thorell, Cindy Cheung, and Orville Mendoza in the Rattlestick Playwrights Theater's musical production of ‘Musical Mix 'n Mingle'. The show will be presented at St. John's in the Village on Monday, October 19.

Hugh Dancy To Star in MCC Theatre's THE PRIDE

MCC Theater (Robert LuPone, Bernard Telsey, Artistic Directors; William Cantler, Associate Artistic Director; Blake West, Executive Director) has announced the trio of English actors who will appear in the American premiere production of Alexi Kaye Campbell's The Pride, directed by Joe Mantello. Hugh Dancy (Adam, Journey's End), Andrea Riseborough (Happy Go Lucky) and Ben Whishaw (Bright Star, Brideshead Revisited) will star in the four person play, with a fourth actor to be announced shortly. The production will mark Ms. Riseborough and Mr. Whishaw's New York stage debuts. Performances begin at the Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street, NYC) on January 27 and continue through March 20, 2010. Opening night is set for Tuesday, February 16 at 7:00 p.m.

Megan Hilty and Gregory Maguire to Perform at 'Wicked' Benefit, 10/15

Megan Hilty, most recently seen on Broadway's production of '9 to 5 The Musical', will be present at the Muckenthaler Cultural Center in Fullerton on October 15 to perform songs from the Tony Award winning musical'Wicked'. On Monday, September 14th, The National Asian American Theatre Company (NAATCO) will present a one-night-only all Asian-American performance of Terrence McNally's LOVE! VALOUR! COMPASSION!, directed by Alan Muraoka, at the Cherry Lane Theatre (38 Commerce Street) to benefit NAATCO. Joe Mantello, the original director of LOVE! VALOUR! COMPASSION! and Stephen Bogardus, a member of the play's original cast, were honorary chairs for the NAATCO benefit performance.
