Monmouth Film Festival and Two River Theater Partnered for Screening / Discussion of Alfred Hitchcock's SHADOW OF A DOUBT
by Macon Prickett - Feb 12, 2018

Two River Theater, in partnership with Monmouth Film Festival, hosted a full house of film and theatre enthusiasts for a special screening of Alfred Hitchcock's 'Shadow of a Doubt.' Following the film, a small panel of industry professionals took to the stage to discuss the film, as well as the work of Hitchcock and writer Thornton Wilder. The screening was part of the theater's Inside Two River program - a series of arts & humanities events, specially curated for an upcoming stage production of theirs. Monmouth Film Festival selected 'Shadow of a Doubt,' being the only produced screenplay written by Pulitzer Prize winning playwright and novelist Thornton Wilder. Wilder's novel, 'The Bridge of San Luis Rey,' is being adapted for the stage by Two River Theater, with shows beginning February 17. The esteemed panel was comprised of Two River Times film critic Joan Ellis, Professor Robert Scott of Monmouth University, and Two River Theater Associate Artistic Director Stephanie Coen. The panel was moderated by Chris Adornato, Monmouth Film Festival's Director of Education. Monmouth Film Festival and Two River Theater are partnering once more for a special film screening, panel discussion, and question and answer session of John Ford's 'The Quiet Man' on Monday, March 19 at 7pm. The Inside Two River event is taking place in advance of Two River Theater's production of 'Dancing at Lughnasa,' taking the stage in April 2018. The third annual Monmouth Film Festival is August 10-12, 2018 at Two River Theater in Red Bank. Early submissions are currently being accepted in a number of categories. Following its increasing popularity, screenings and workshops are being scheduled leading up to the festival. About Monmouth Film Festival, Inc.
