'Saturday Night Live,' with host Jim Carrey and musical guest Iggy Azalea (4.1/10 in household results in the 56 local markets metered by Nielsen Media Research, Seattle and Portland currently excluded; 2.2/10 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with Local People Meters) scored the show's highest rating in metered-market households since March 8 (with host Lena Dunham and musical guest The National, 4.1/11) and equaled the top 'SNL' metered-market rating since March 1 (with host Jim Parsons and musical guest Beck, 4.6/12).

NBC is bringing in the holiday spirit with the stop-motion hourlong animated special “Elf: Buddy's Musical Christmas,” set to air Tuesday, Dec. 16 at 8 p.m. Based on the popular film “Elf” and the hit Broadway show “Elf: The Musical,” the special will star four-time Emmy Award winner Jim Parsons (“The Big Bang Theory”) as Buddy.

Palo Alto Players follows up on its successful season premiere with the hare-raising comedy classic Harvey. Written by Mary Chase, this beloved play won the Pulitzer Prize in 1945 and has been charming audiences ever since! Harvey will play for 11 performances (November 7-23, 2014) at the Lucie Stern Theater located at 1305 Middlefield Road in Palo Alto. Roundabout Theatre Company is thrilled to welcome back four-time Emmy Award and Golden Globe winner Jim Parsons ("The Big Bang Theory," Roundabout's Harvey) in a hilarious one-night-only reading of George S. Kaufman and Marc Connelly's Merton of the Movies. This rollicking evening will be helmed by Roundabout's Adams Associate Artistic Director, six-time Tony nominee Scott Ellis (Roundabout's Harvey, The Mystery of Edwin Drood), currently represented on Broadway with You Can't Take It With You.

According to the Daily Mail, James Dreyfus will play 'Elwood P. Dowd' in HARVEY at Birmingham Repertory Theatre next year before the show launches a UK tour to Richmond, Bromley and Malvern. Mary Chase's play (which recently appeared on Broadway starring Jim Parsons) is being produced by Don Gregory, who told the Mail he plans on transferring the production to the West End.

THE NORMAL HEART, from HBO and directed by Ryan Murphy was the recipient of the 2014 Emmy for 'Outstanding Television Movie.' The adaptation received 16 nominations this year.

Golden Globe Award winner and Broadway veteran Jim Parsons was the recipient of the 2014 Emmy Award for 'Outstanding Lead Actor In A Comedy Series' for his role on CBS' THE BIG BANG THEORY. This marks Parsons' third Emmy.
