Jeremy Strong, star of the hit HBO dark comedy series 'Succession,' has stated that he is determined to appear on the UK stage at some point in his career. The actor told Deadline at the Cannes Film Festival today that he missed his chance to appear in the upcoming stage adaptation of Stephen King's The Shining. Ben Stiller is set to star, while the show will be directed by Ivo van Hove. Sonia Friedman (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child) and Colin Callender will produce. 

Last night marked the official opening of Tony Award winner Sam Gold's Macbeth on Broadway, starring Daniel Craig in his return to Broadway as Macbeth and Ruth Negga's Broadway debut as Lady Macbeth. Ariana DeBose took home the award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in the recent film adaptation of West Side Story. The film also won in the Best Film Editing category.

Yesterday, March 11th, the American Film Institute (AFI) celebrated the 2021 AFI AWARDS honorees with a star-studded invite-only luncheon in Beverly Hills. AFI also revealed its official rationales (below) for all 23 honorees, providing the cultural and artistic context to mark these outstanding creative endeavors as the year’s notable milestones.

The Screen Actors Guild Awards were held Sunday, Feb. 27 at Barker Hangar in Santa Monica. The telecast aired on TNT and TBS. Among the big winners for the evening, taking home multiple awards, were CODA, Squid Game and Ted Lasso.

Nominations for the 2021 Critics Choice Awards were announced this afternoon and a slew of Broadway favorites are in the running at this year's ceremony.

Aaron Sorkin has revealed that he considered making his film, The Trial of the Chicago 7, into a musical! The American legal drama film was written and directed by Sorkin, and stars Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Sacha Baron Cohen, Daniel Flaherty, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and more.
