Creative Cauldron opens the 2017-18 season with the DC area premiere of an intelligent and thought-provoking new musical, The Mistress Cycle. Creative Cauldron Artistic Associate Matt Conner is directing the production. Created by an award-winning female musical theater creative team, Beth Blatt (Book and Lyrics) and Jenny Giering (Music), The Mistress Cycle tells the story of five mistresses from different times and cultures.

The 2017-18 Season will mark Creative Cauldron's ninth year producing and presenting live theater and music at ArtSpace Falls Church. The season includes a diverse range of programming for adults and families alike.

Continuing its multi-year commitment to American Masters, classic American dramas in fresh productions by nationally known artists, the Weston Playhouse Theatre Company will present Eugene O'Neill's Long day's Journey into night.  The Pulitzer Prize winning drama, considered O'Neill's greatest work and one of the finest American plays of the twentieth century, begins a limited run on August 24.

The Mistress Cycle will be performed for a one night only show at The Duplex Theatre tonight, June 7th.

Founding Executive Director Kathy Evans announced the 19 writers and 9 new musicals selected for development at this summer's Rhinebeck Writers Retreat. 

Phoenix Theatre of Indianapolis announces Sex with Strangers, opening tonight, February 16, 2017 on the Frank and Katrina Basile Stage. This production runs through April 9, 2017, with Bill Simmons serving as director.

In what has become an annual ritual, a total of 32 established and emerging composers, lyricists, and librettists will converge on the Goodspeed campus from mid-January through mid-February 2017 to participate in the Johnny Mercer Foundation Writers Colony at Goodspeed Musicals. PREMIERES, the New York-based music theater organization whose mission is 'to bring new music theater to light,' is sharing the success of this season's Inner Voices, the biannual series of solo works featuring new teams of playwrights and composers, now playing through October 29th at The TBG Theatre (312 West 36th Street - between 8th & 9th Avenues). Recently announced as a Critic's Pick by The New York Times, this year's program will be filmed by The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts' Theatre on Film and Tape Archive on Monday, October 24th.

Sundance Institute has selected 25 projects to participate in its Screenwriters Lab, Documentary Edit and Story Labs and new Theatre-Makers Residency, which will take place concurrently this summer in the mountains of the Sundance Resort in Utah. The confluence of these three artist development programs will provide Fellows the unprecedented opportunity to experience portions of the other Labs and will support a cross-pollination of creativity and personal expression across different storytelling forms.

Conceived originally by Brown, The Gold Room explores a night behind closed doors in the life of Woolworth heiress Barbara Hutton.
