Tickets go on sale this Sunday, January 30 at 10 a.m., for the scathingly funny, Tony Award-winning Best Play "God of Carnage."

The Purple Rose Theatre Company is proud to present their 40th World Premiere as part of the 20th anniversary season this winter: Corktown by Michael Brian Ogden. The production will enjoy a limited seven-week engagement from Thursday, January 20 through Saturday, March 5, 2011. Seven low-price previews of Corktown will be performed from Thursday, January 20, through Thursday, January 27, with Press Opening on Friday, January 28, 2011. Regular performances for the duration of the engagement are Wednesdays through Saturdays at 8:00 pm with Wednesday and Saturday matinees at 3:00 pm and Sunday matinees at 2:00 pm. GOD OF CARNAGE is a comedy of manners without the manners. Yasmina Reza's play deals with two sets of parents who meet to resolve a conflict between their two children. What is supposed to be a civilised meeting turns into a barrage of name calling, tantrums and tears. In this hysterical comedy when the gloves come off, dirty laundry is aired and the grownups find themselves in their own playground.

Taking the stage at the Monday night Broadway at Birdland concert series was renowned folk singer/comedienne Christine Lavin.

Lanford Wilson's Tony-nominated Fifth of July, called the "wisest and funniest play of its generation" by the New York Times, will make its Lehigh Valley debut when it opens in Civic's 19th Street Theatre on Friday, February 18th.
