Helping talented high school seniors reach for the stars, Las Casas Foundation is pleased to announce that the Las Casas Performing Arts Scholarship Competition has been selected to participate in the National High School Musical Theater Awards (NHSMTA), creating the opportunity for two teens to win trips to New York City to participate in NHSMTA, a national celebration of outstanding student achievement recognizing individual artistry in vocal, dance and acting performance. TUTS Announces Winners for 2014 Tommy Tune Awards!

The 2014 Tommy Tune Awards winners have been announced! To a crowd of more than 2,500 people, Theatre Under The Stars (TUTS) declared the winners of TUTS' twelfth annual Tommy Tune Awards on the evening of Wednesday, April 16, at the Hobby Center for the Performing Arts. Adding extra excitement to the evening, the award ceremony's namesake and nine-time Tony Award winnerTommy Tune made a special appearance to kick off the show and to present the night's top honor. 2014 Illinois High School Musical Theater Awards to be Held 4/25 at Broadway Playhouse

Broadway In Chicago has announced the third annual Illinois High School Musical Theater Awards held at the Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place (175 East Chestnut Place) on Friday, April 25, 2014. Schools and students from the state of Illinois are invited to submit and 24 finalists (12 actors & 12 actresses) will be invited to participate in the program. Sponsored by Grosh Backdrops & Drapery, the newly-established Illinois chapter of the National High School Musical Theater Awards serves as an annual national celebration of outstanding achievement in musical theater performance by high school students. TUTS Reveals 2014 Tommy Tune Award Nominees

Breckenridge, President and CEO of Theatre Under The Stars (TUTS), announced today the nominations and presenters for TUTS' 12th annual Tommy Tune Awards which will be held on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at 7:30 p.m. at the Hobby Center for the Performing Arts. Developed by TUTS, the Tommy Tune Awards honor musical theatre excellence at the high school level. Co-hosts for the award ceremony include Jim Bernhard and Sarah Pepper. Bernhard has written several original productions that have debuted at TUTS and authored the theatrical history Stars in Your Eyes. Pepper is the morning host of The Hot Show on HOT 95.7 FM. Cameron Mackintosh Becomes First British Producer Inducted into Theater Hall of Fame Tonight

Cameron Mackintosh, widely considered to be the most successful theatrical producer of all-time, becomes the first British producer ever to be inducted into The Theater Hall of Fame at a ceremony this evening Monday, January 27 at the Gershwin Theatre in New York. Mackintosh is joined by this year's fellow inductees actors Cherry Jones and Ellen Burstyn; directors Jerry Zaks,George C. Wolfe and Lynne Meadow; designer David Hays; and, posthumously, playwright Lorraine Hansberry. Shubert Organization Co-CEO and President, Robert Wankel, will accept the honor on Mackintosh's behalf, who is unable to attend due to a long-planned trip to Myanmar. (more...)

Broadway/San Diego to Launch New High School Competition, 'The Ben Vereen Awards', June 2014

ANNIE to Offer New Dog Owners Free Tickets Throughout October

October is Adopt-a-Dog month, and ANNIE on Broadway is celebrating by showing support for those who adopt shelter dogs. From October 15 through 31, at participating shelters around the city, individuals who adopt a dog from a participating shelter will receive a voucher for two tickets to see ANNIE in November, while supplies last. ANNIE has partnered with a select number of shelters and rescue groups in NYC, all of which are members of the Mayor's Alliance for NYC's Animals, to participate. Participating shelters include The Humane Society of NY, New York Animal Care & Control, Animal Haven, Sean Casey Animal Rescue and Louie's Legacy. More shelters will be announced via social media.
