Syfy has signed Gigi Edgley (Farscape) to host Jim Henson's Creature Shop Challenge, a new competition series set in the imaginative and visually stunning world of original creature creation. Beth Hathaway and Kirk Thatcher are also inked to serve on the judging panel, alongside headline and lead judge Brian Henson.

Fans of AVATAR, the highest grossing film of all time, will have the chance to get a first-hand look inside the spectacular world of Pandora through AVATAR: The Exhibition, opening at Henry Ford Museum today, October 26, 2013 through January 26, 2014. Organized by EMP Museum in Seattle, Wash., and developed in partnership with Twentieth Century Fox Consumer Products and James Cameron's Lightstorm Entertainment, AVATAR: The Exhibition will feature authentic props and costumes, interactive displays, concept models and sketches from the blockbuster film.

In an interview with Australian radio station Nova 96.9, Sam Worthington confirmed that production on AVATAR 2 is expected to begin in October 2014, with the third and fourth film on its heels. The three sequels are expected to be released in 2016, 2017, and 2018.

The Pasadena Playhouse announced the full schedule for its new summer festival, CIRQUE-A-PALOOZA - Summer Spectacle & Comic Calamity, created and directed by Stefan Haves. Mainstage feature acts will include two performances of magician/entertainer Justin Willman's Tricked Out, Frank Ferrante's one-man show An Evening With Groucho and a special night with some of the greatest magicians of The Magic Castle. Road to Palooza: A Variety Show Spectacular will also be a Mainstage event for five performances featuring a number of the amazing acts playing the festival and rotating special guest performers. The Carrie Hamilton Theatre will host an eclectic variety of specialty acts over the three-week period. The CIRQUE-A-PALOOZA festival will launch today, July 19 and perform through August 11, 2013.
