Lewis was just on the red carpet at AFTER MIDNIGHT where he chatted with Richard Ridge about the project. He revealed: 'It's rearrangements- all jazz infusion. It's not gonna be totally jazz, you'll still understand that it's Stephen Sondheim and its his music and his arrangements, but there is a little influence that Wynton Marsalis will put on it as well.'

This Encores! Special Event, directed by frequent Sondheim collaborator John Doyle, with choreography by Parker Esse and musical supervision by David Loud, was conceived by Peter Gethers, Jack Viertel and John Doyle,and will run for seven performances, November 13 – 17 at City Center.

Nathan Lane, Harold Prince, Angela Lansbury, Laura Osnes, Harriet Harris, Kate Burton, Kristine Nielsen, Alfred Uhry will salute actress Dana Ivey and arts patron Barbara Fleischman at The Acting Company's Gala on Monday, October 21 at Capitale. Ms. Ivey will receive the John Houseman Award recognizing her profound commitment to the development of American actors and a national audience for the theater. Ms. Fleischman will be presented the Warburg Humanitarian Award for her outstanding philanthropic endeavor and support of the arts. Harriet Harris (Cinderella) and Barclay Collins are Gala Chairs, Nathan Lane (The Nance) and Hal Prince (21 Tony Award winner) will present the awards; Stephen DeRosa (Boardwalk Empire) will host, Laura Osnes (Cinderella) will perform. Tributes will be offered by a host of celebrities. Multi-Platinum superstars Toni Braxton and Kenny 'Babyface' Edwards are the latest Grammy Award-winning artists set to join the roster of 'Special Guest Star' vocalists in the new Broadway musical After Midnight. Emmy Award-nominated actor Dulé Hill will return to the stage in After Midnight, marking his first appearance in a musical since Bring in 'Da Noise, Bring in 'Da Funk. With his own unique song and dance style, Hill will serve as 'The Host' of the evening, leading the audience through the heat and glamour of the Harlem Renaissance using the words of Langston Hughes.
