Following a two-year hiatus as a result of the global pandemic, The Chase Brock Experience (CBE) - the critically acclaimed New York City-based contemporary dance company from esteemed Broadway and contemporary choreographer, Chase Brock (Be More Chill, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Hercules) - has returned to NYC’s Theatre Row to debut an all-new dance-narrative inspired by Brock’s personal family history. Titled Big Shot, the new work features direction and choreography by Chase Brock and CBE company member Travante S. Baker, and runs through Monday, December 12. Schwalbe is also working with former DreamWorks and Nickelodeon EVP Mark Taylor, raising equity finance for highly branded animated films with leading animation studios in Asia.

In what has become an annual ritual, a total of 32 established and emerging composers, lyricists, and librettists will converge on the Goodspeed campus from mid-January through mid-February 2017 to participate in the Johnny Mercer Foundation Writers Colony at Goodspeed Musicals. The writing teams, representing 18 new musicals, will populate the campus, creating a truly exciting environment for discovery and inspiration.

The July installment of New York Theatre Barn's New Works Series features selections from new musicals written by Andy Monroe (The Kid) and Amanda Yesnowitz (the Broadway bound Somehwere in Time), on Monday, July 21, 2014 at 7:30pm at the Daryl Roth Theatre's D-Lounge. The monthly New Works Series, now in its 7th year at the Daryl Roth Theatre, is the core of New York Theatre Barn's new work development process for emerging writers and new musicals.

Classic Stage Company, under the leadership of Artistic Director Brian Kulick and Executive Director Greg Reiner, will present a private reading of a new musical comedy A DOCTOR IN SPITE OF HIMSELF by Sheldon Harnick, based on Molière's LE MEDECIN MALGRE LUI, today, February 1 at MTC Studios. The musical features a score by Harnick, as well as English Adaptation and Additional Dialogue. The reading will be directed by David Glenn Armstrong, with musical direction by Amanda Morton. The cast will feature Ben Davis, Beth Fowler, David Garrison, Cady Huffman, Charles Kimbrough, Jose Llana, Patrick Richwood, Robb Sapp and Elena Shaddow.

LoNyLa, a network, creative lab and producing organization that links artists globally, announced today that seven plays, two screenplays and one television pilot will be developed in VELOCITY LAB 2012. Director Jake Witlen will announce two more new plays in Berlin today, Sept. 28.

On Monday, June 25, the Broadway at Birdland concert series was presented songwriter Jack Lechner and a very talented cast of singers to the historic stage. Singing Lechner's songs and praises were Nancy Anderson, Chris Critelli, Desmond Dutcher, Jeannine Frumess, Andy Monroe, Jeremy Schonfeld, Lucas Steele, and Karen Ziemba, with musical direction by Boko Suzuki. Lechner is best known for his 2010 off-Broadway musical The Kid, co-written with composer Andy Monroe and librettist Michael Zam.

The Broadway at Birdland concert series presents "Here Goes Nothing," an evening of songs by Drama Desk-nominated lyricist Jack Lechner, tonight, June 25 at 7pm. Guest performers will include Jill Abramovitz, Desmond Dutcher, Jeannine Frumess, Jose Llana, Lucas Steele, and Karen Ziemba. The music director will be Boko Suzuki.
