NYU Tisch School of the Arts just celebrated its 50th Anniversary Gala, 'Celebrating the Past/Creating the Future,' last night, April 4, 2016, at Jazz at Lincoln Center's Frederick P. Rose Hall. ?Allyson Green, dean of NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, has announced that noted philanthropist, businesswoman, and Tisch Dean's Council member Iris Cantor is giving $10 million to support the construction of NYU's first professional proscenium theater.  The performance space - part of a planned multi-use building on Bleecker St., due to break ground next year - will be named the Iris Cantor Theater.

A distinguished list of entertainers joined in honoring Tony Award® and Emmy Award® winning actor Billy Crystal, Class of 1970, at the Tisch School of Arts' annual gala, The Face of Tisch including Christina Bianco '03, The Bob Cantwell New Orleans Jazz Band, Seán Curran '84, James Franco '11, Whoopi Goldberg, Marcia Gay Harden '88, Isaiah Johnson '10, Jesse L. Martin '91, Krysta Rodriguez '06, Paul Shaffer, Noah Weisberg '98, and Robin Williams. The event was held on Monday, December 6th at the renowned Frederick P. Rose Hall, home of Jazz at Lincoln Center.
