MY MOM IS TRYING TO RUIN MY LIFE World Premiere Set for Workshop Theater, 2/16-3/10

WORKSHOP THEATER COMPANY in conjunction with JEM THEATRICALS is presenting the world premiere production of MY MOM IS TRYING TO RUIN MY LIFE, a new family musical comedy. The musical, with book by Kate Feiffer and MJ Bruder Munafo, music by Paul Jacobs, lyrics by Sarah Durkee, is based on the acclaimed picture book MY MOM IS TRYING TO RUIN MY LIFE, by Kate Feiffer with illustrations by Diane Goode (Simon & Schuster/Paula Wiseman Books). The musical will be directed by Debbi Katz and choreographed by Danyelle Demchock of the Young Performers Dance Academy. MY MOM IS TRYING TO RUIN MY LIFE will play a four-week limited engagement at the WorkShop Theater (312 West 36th Street). Performances begin Saturday, February 16 at 12 pm and continue through Sunday, March 10 at 3 pm. Press are invited to all performances.

Since bursting onto the international music scene in 2003, The Idan Raichel Project has shattered expectations of Israeli pop with their unique blend of African, Latin American, Caribbean, and Middle Eastern sounds, coupled with a spectacular live show. The project continues to push musical boundaries garnering strong critical praise and winning over audiences worldwide. On January 12 and 13, the complete 12-musician lineup will be headlining two evenings at the prestigious Town Hall in New York City during the APAP conference. The BLACK GIRLS ROCK!™ 2012 special on BET is back for a third televised installment with heartfelt performances, tributes and special awards to celebrate the achievements of remarkable women of color. Back by popular demand is the dynamic duo of Tracee Ellis Ross and Regina King who are returning to co-host this year's awards show. The historic Loews Paradise Theatre in New York City will be the site of the annual celebration which tapes Saturday, October 13, 2012 and premieres Sunday, November 4, 2012 on BET Networks.
