WHAT: Andrey Boreyko returns to lead the LA Phil and Danish-Israeli master violinist Nikolaj Znaider in three performances at Walt Disney Concert Hall, Fridayand Saturday, January 16 and 17, at 8 pm, and Sunday, January 18, at 2 pm. The program features the U.S. premiere of Górecki's LA Phil-commissioned Fourth Symphony. Boreyko conducted the highly anticipated world premiere of the piece with the London Philharmonic Orchestra to considerable acclaim last season.

Festival d'Aix-en-Provence's 67th Season to Feature World Premieres, French Premieres & More

The 67th season of the Festival d'Aix-en-Provence, under the leadership of General Manager Bernard Foccroulle, will present the world premiere productions of operas by Handel and Mozart; the French premiere of Jonathan Dove's children's opera The Monster in the Maze led by Sir Simon Rattle with the London Symphony Orchestra; and a revival of director Robert Carsen's acclaimed 1991 Festival production of Benjamin Britten's A Midsummer Night's Dream. The Festival's major vocal presentations this season will also include Serbian composer Ana Sokolovi?'s unconventional one-act a capella opera Svadba (Marriage), and a double bill presenting Persephone,Stravinsky's melodrama for tenor, female narrator, choir, children's choir, dancers and orchestra, with Tchaikovsky's last opera, Iolanta.

Cartier Williams is a hoofer, choreographer, filmmaker and performer hailing from Washington, D.C. He began his tap dancing career at the age of four and has been active in the tap dance community ever since. Throughout his career, Cartier has had the opportunity to dance with a multitude of tap pioneers and masters, including Gregory Hines, Savion Glover, Peg Leg Bates and the Nicholas Brothers. He has appeared on 'The Oprah Winfrey Show,' 'The Tonight Show,' 'Good Morning America' and CNN. Cartier has performed for President Clinton, co-starring with Bebe Neuwirth in the PBS special 'In Performance at The White House.' He also performed for President George W. Bush at the 2006 Congressional Picnic at the White House. Cartier is currently continuing to develop multiple musical productions and workshops.
