San Francisco Opera continues its 2017 Summer Season on June 10 at the War Memorial Opera House with Giacomo Puccini's La Boheme. Coinciding with city-wide celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the "Summer of Love," this revival of one of the greatest love stories in the operatic repertory will feature a brilliant cast including sopranos Erika Grimaldi, Julie Adams and Ellie Dehn; tenor Arturo Chacon-Cruz as Rodolfo; and baritone Audun Iversen. San Francisco Opera's 2017 Summer Season opens Wednesday, May 31, with Giuseppe Verdi's Rigoletto at the War Memorial Opera House.

Following their current Spring tour of Alice in Wonderland which is delighting audiences all over the country, Immersion Theatre Company continue to expand their reputation as producers of top quality family theatre as they announce a brand-new, open-air, 42-venue touring production of the family classic, Wind in the Willows.

Typically I'm not one to love shows filled with children. Hate me, whatever. But the kids (and the adults, too) in Vintage Theatre's Billy Elliot The Musical are pumping this show full of the kind of electricity it deserves.

The partnership between San Francisco Opera and the Bay Area's Classical KDFC continues with monthly broadcasts of performances captured during the Fall 2016 Season, including the world premiere of Bright Sheng and David Henry Hwang's Dream of the Red Chamber, and a historic broadcast from the Company's archives. San Francisco Opera General Director Matthew Shilvock and Music Director Nicola Luisotti today announced plans for the 2017-18 repertory season. The Company's 95th season will open Friday, September 8 with a gala performance of Giacomo Puccini'sTurandot led by Maestro Luisotti and an international cast starring Martina Serafin, Maria Agresta and Brian Jagde.

The San Francisco Conservatory of Music (SFCM) continues its collaborative undertakings with leading classical music icons this year during the Conservatory's Winter Term and Spring Semester, taking place January through May. SFCM welcomes back pianists Leon Fleisher and Garrick Ohlsson (ongoing residencies from this past fall), in addition to hosting a dynamic spread of other respected figures in the classical world, including David Gockley, Martin Katz, the Miro Quartet, Peter Pastreich, Patricia Racette, Ian Robertson, and Wolfgang Vlader.

At the conclusion of last night's final performance of Verdi's Aida, San Francisco Opera General Director Matthew Shilvock presented the Company's Chorus and Dance Manager and member of the Opera Chorus, Jim Meyer, with the San Francisco Opera Medal, the Company's highest honor.
