Rupert Grint, Brendan Coyle & More Set for West End's MOJO; Full Cast Announced

Ian Rickson will direct Brendan Coyle, Rupert Grint, Daniel Mays, Colin Morgan, Ben Whishaw and Tom Rhys Harries in a major West End revival of Jez Butterworth's award-winning Mojo, reuniting director and writer who previously collaborated on the play's world premiere at the Royal Court in 1995. Mojo will preview at the Harold Pinter Theatre from 26 October 2013 with press night on 13 November and is booking to 25 January 2014. Tickets for Mojo go on public sale today. Designs are by Ultz with lighting by Charles Balfour, music by Stephen Warbeck and sound by Simon Baker. Mojo is produced in the West End by Sonia Friedman Productions who also produced Butterworth and Rickson's internationally-acclaimed Jerusalem. (more...)

According to the Daily Mail, Rupert Grint (Harry Potter) will make his stage debut in a revival of MOJO by Jez Butterworth. Grint joins Brendan Coyle (Downton Abbey), Ben Whishaw (Skyfall) and Daniel Mays (Mrs Biggs, Made In Dagenham). Rehearsals are set to begin in September 2013 for an October debut at the Harold Pinter Theatre. (more...)

Baz Bamigboye writes in his column that Grint recently lead a reading of Jez Butterworth's play MOJO, opposite Ben Whitsaw, Daniel Mays, and Robert Sheehan. The workshop was held by Ian Rickson, who directed the original 1995 Royal Court production, and negotiations are reportedly underway to bring the drama to the West End in 2014. (more...)

After announcing this morning that he will return to the Royal Shakespeare Company this summer, Patrick Stewart has also announced that he will be returning to the Young Vic next year. He will appear as William Shakespeare in Edward Bond's 1973 play Bingo, a play he first appeared in back in April 2010 at Chichester Festival's Minerva theatre. (more...)
