The New York Times has announced that Lydia R. Diamond's STICK FLY will head to Broadway next season, produced by Grammy-winning superstar Alicia Keys, Reuben Cannon and Nelle Nugent. The show will be directed by Kenny Leon (Fences) and begin previews at the Lyceum Theatre on November 18, 2011. Opening night is scheduled for December 8. Casting announcements are forthcoming.

Upcoming Theatre Communication Group Member Shows - 6/12 for Boston

Central Square Theater presents the gender-bending, Off-Broadway hit about our own hometown boys' rise to fame, MATT & BEN by Mindy Kaling (of NBC's The Office) and Brenda Withers, featuring Marianna Bassham and Philana Mia. M. Bevin O'Gara directs.

Olney Theatre Center's Artistic Director Jim Petosa directs violist-turned-playwright Michael Hollinger's Opus, winner of the Barrymore Award for Outstanding New Play in 2006.

From July 15-23, the Independent Drama Society will celebrate the end of its three-year tenure with THE GOOD DOCTOR, directed by Marketing Director Christine Toohey. This Neil Simon comedy, inspired by the short stories of Anton Chekhov, will be the final production of this young company.

Golden Globe Award winner and Academy Award nominee Marsha Mason and Drama Desk Award winner and Tony Award nominee Paxton Whitehead will head the cast of Westport Country Playhouse's scintillating comedy of manners, "The Circle," written by W. Somerset Maugham and directed by Nicholas Martin, playing June 7 - 25.

Playwrights Horizons, under the leadership of Artistic Director Tim Sanford and Managing Director Leslie Marcus, is proud to announce the sixth and final production of its upcoming 2011/2012 Season. Completing the theater company's line-up is the New York premiere of MAPLE & VINE, a new play by Jordan Harrison (Doris to Darlene at Playwrights Horizons, Act a Lady, Amazons and Their Men), directed by Obie Award winner Anne Kauffman (The Thugs, Stunning, Naked Angels' This Wide Night, Mr. Harrison's Act a Lady).

Executive Producer Lou Spisto today announced principal casting for the Globe's 2011 Shakespeare Festival, performed in repertory in the Lowell Davies Festival Theatre.

Second Stage Theatre (Carole Rothman, Artistic Director) has announced that DAVID WILSON BARNES (Second Stage's hit Becky Shaw), JUSTIN BARTHA (The Hangover, Broadway's Lend Me a Tenor), ANNA CAMP (Second Stage's The Scene, 'True Blood'), and KRYSTEN RITTER (Confessions of a Shopaholic, Second Stage's All This Intimacy) will appear in the world premiere comedy, ALL NEW PEOPLE, written by ZACH BRAFF and directed by PETER DuBOIS. Recognizing Excellence in Greater Boston Theater, The 29th Annual Elliot Norton Awards were held this evening Monday May 23, 2011 at the Paramount Mainstage in Boston.

Huntington Theatre Company completes its 30th Anniversary Season with the world premiere of Captors by Evan M. Wiener (Monogamy) and directed by Huntington Artistic Director Peter DuBois, and Noel Coward's stylish, savvy comedy Private Lives, directed by Tony Award nominee Maria Aitken (Alfred Hitchcock's The 39 Steps).

The Boston Theater Critics Association has announced its winners for this year's Elliot Norton Awards, which recognize excellence in Greater Boston theater. The awards were given at the 29th annual ceremony, last night, at the Paramount Theatre, 549 Washington St., in Boston's Theater District.
