Spotlighters present another season of great theatre for the Baltimore community! For over 48 years Spotlighters has challenged actors and audiences with powerful performances in our intimate space. The City of Cleveland Heights and Cain Park proudly announce that Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (Music & Lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, Book by Hugh Wheeler) opens Cain Park's 2010 season in the Alma Theater June 11-27 (preview June 10). Paul Gurgol, founder/artistic director of Kalliope Stage, directs this 1979 Tony Award-winning musical thriller with music direction by Jodie Ricci.

Tony, Grammy & Golden Globe Award winner Bernadette Peters, who begins performances in A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC alongside Tony & Emmy Award winner Elaine Stritch on Tuesday, July 13th, will be Regis Philbin's co-host tomorrow, Friday, June 25 on 'Live with Regis & Kelly,' airing at 9 a.m. Check local listings (Channel 7, WABC in the tri-state area).

Famed director/designer Isaac Mizrahi will direct the upcoming production of A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC at the Opera Theatre in St. Louis. The production will run June 6th through 19th at the Opera Theatre and will feature conductor Stephen Lord. NIGHT MUSIC was written by Hugh Wheeler and features a score by Stephen Sondheim.

Celebrating Stephen Sondheim's 80th Birthday this year, Barrington Stage Company, under the leadership of Artistic Director Julianne Boyd and Producing Director Richard M. Parison, Jr., presents the musical thriller, SWEENEY TODD: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. Directed by Julianne Boyd, with musical direction by Darren Cohen, Stephen Sondheim's masterpiece begins previews on June 17; opens June 23 at 7:00pm; and runs through July 17.

The 5th Avenue Theatre has announced the cast for our upcoming production of Leonard Bernstein's Candide, directed by the 5th's Executive Producer and Artistic Director David Armstrong. Starring in the title role is New York actor Stanley Bahorek, who's performed in the national tour of Big River and on Broadway in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.

The Drama Studio hosts auditions for SUMMER STOCK MUSICAL SWEENEY TODD on Tuesday, June 8, 2010 @ 6:30 PM. There will be a private Audition for the adult cast may be scheduled if unable to attend the open call.
