Two weeks from tonight is opening night for the Judson Theatre Company production of To Kill a Mockingbird, the final show of JTC's 2014 season. The production will open Thursday, October 2 and run through Sunday, October 5 at Owens Auditorium at Sandhills Community College, located at 3395 Airport Road in Pinehurst. (more...)

June Squibb Exits DTC's DRIVING MISS DAISY; Annalee Jefferies Steps in

Dallas Theater Center announced today that Annalee Jefferies will replace June Squibb in the theater's upcoming production of the Pulitzer Prize-winning Driving Miss Daisy. Jefferies, a Texas native, returns to DTC for the first time since her performance in The Blonde, the Brunette and the Vengeful Redhead. Squibb is leaving the production due to professional conflicts. (more...)

Third Rail opens our season with a play we have been dying to produce since it was the hit of Portland Center Stage's 2009 JAW Festival, MIDDLETOWN by Will Eno. The residents of Middletown lead lives that are probably not too different from ours. They wake up, go to work, say hello to their neighbors, fix the plumbing, seek advice on parenting, and try to live lives that are as rewarding as possible. It's all fairly ordinary. And yet...ordinary doesn't even begin to scratch the surface of this quirky, word-frenzied, refraction of OUR TOWN. MIDDLETOWN is a quizzical fable about life in all its sweetness and pain, joy and wonder, beginnings and endings. (more...)

Cody Estle Named New Associate Artistic Director of Raven Theatre

Raven Theatre Co-Artistic Directors Michael Menendian and JoAnn Montemurro have announced the appointment of Cody Estle as Associate Artistic Director. Estle, a Raven ensemble member, has directed five of the theatre company's productions over the past three seasons, including Dating Walter Dante, Boy Gets Girl, Brighton Beach Memoirs, Good Boys and True and Vieux Carre'. He is set to direct the company's Chicago premiere of Horton Foote's Dividing the Estate in January. (more...)

Tickets go on sale today for FISH IN THE DARK, the new comedy starring and written by Larry David, the creator and star of HBO's 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' and co-creator of 'Seinfeld.' FISH IN THE DARK, to be directed by Anna D. Shapiro, will mark Larry David's Broadway debut and will feature Jayne Houdyshell, Jake Cannavale, Jonny Orsini, Rosie Perez, and Jerry Adler.
