Daniel Betts, Zackary Momoh and More Star in TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD - Full Cast Announced!

Casting for Regent Park Open Air Theatre's production of To Kill A Mockingbird was announced today. Daniel Betts will play Atticus Finch alongside Zackary Momoh as Tom Robinson, Christopher Akrill as Boo Radley. Original cast member and composer Phil King will reprise his role.

Theatrical Outfit begins its Season of Compassion with the dramatic comedy The Savannah Disputation, written by Georgia-born playwright Evan Smith and, he says, inspired by today's politics and his Savannah grandmother. The show will run August 21 - September 7, 2014. The show will feature Alex Bond, Lane Carlock, Shannon Eubanks and Mark Kincaid. This is the 38th season for Theatrical Outfit, the second-oldest professional theater company in Atlanta, and the home of stories that stir the soul.

American Theatre of Actors presents North To Maine: A Journey on the Appalachian Trail, a new original play written by Brenton Lengel about a thru-hiker's experience on the legendary trail. Eric Parness directs a cast of five including Samantha Rivers Cole, Tim Dowd, Michael Raymond Fox, Adam La Faci, and Winston Shaw. North To Maine is being staged at The Beckmann Theatre at American Theatre of Actors (ATA), 314 West 54th Street (bet. 8th & 9th Avenues) in NYC for 17 performances from today, July 16-August 3, 2014.

HarperCollins Publishers have announced that 'To Kill a Mockingbird' will become available as an e-book and digital audiobook today, July 8. Lee dicussed a 'new generation' of fans in agreeing to the downloadable editions.

Singer and songwriter Amos Lee will make his Segerstrom Center for the Arts debut on Wednesday, August 6 at 8 p.m. in the Renee and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall as part of the second leg of his 2014 Mountains of Sorrow, Rivers of Song Tour. His recent fall and winter headline tour included sold-out shows at the historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, ACL Live in Austin and the Beacon Theatre in New York City. Lee will be joined by band members, Freddie Berman, drums; Zach Djanikian, mandolin; Annie Clements, bass and vocals; Andy Keenan, guitar, banjo and vocals; and Jaron Olevsky, keyboards.

Due to phenomenal demand, 5,000 extra tickets will go on sale on Monday 30 June for Timothy Sheader's critically acclaimed production of To Kill a Mockingbird (28 August- 13 September) at Regent's Park Open Air Theatre, including an extra matinee added for Tuesday 9 September.

The Harper Lee classic, dramatized by Christopher Sergel, To Kill A Mockingbird opened Saturday April 5 at the White Theatre in Overland Park, Kan. Darren Sextro directs the White Theatre production that runs through April 13. Mary Badham, the actor who starred as Scout in the 1962 film starring Gregory Peck, was on hand opening weekend and conducted a talk back on Saturday night.

Few popular novels have been as powerful about a subject as Harper Lee's 1960 novel, To Kill A Mockingbird. As a film with an A-list star and as a play that is produced from time to time (but not nearly as often as it should be, in this critic's opinion), it's always a solid hit. Thankfully, the creative team at the Bridgeport Theatre Company did not depend on this.
