On the occasion of the amazing 25th Anniversary of THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA on Broadway last night, composer Andrew Lloyd Webber (who sadly was unable to travel to New York because of a back procedure) and the show's original ‘Christine' Sarah Brightman sat down together in London this week to reflect on the show's genesis and incredible success. The video was broadcast to the invitation-only audience at New York's Majestic Theatre as part of the on-stage, post-performance presentation marking 25 Years.

The longest-running show in Broadway history, Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of the Opera, directed by Harold Prince and produced by Cameron Mackintosh and The Really Useful Company, Inc., once again makes theater history when it becomes the first Broadway show ever to celebrate its 25th Anniversary tonight, January 26, 2013. Much of the Phantom family will reunite for this special event, and the current cast will also be a big part of the festivities. The longest-running show in Broadway history, Andrew Lloyd Webber's THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, directed by Harold Prince and produced by Cameron Mackintosh and The Really Useful Theatre Company, Inc., will welcome West End star and Platinum-selling Swedish recording star Peter Jöback to the New York cast this summer. Mr. Jöback will assume the title role for a limited engagement from Monday, April 29 through Saturday, August 24, 2012.

Tonight, Monday, January 21, 2013, the longest-running show in Broadway history, Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of the Opera, directed by Harold Prince and produced by Cameron Mackintosh and The Really Useful Company, Inc., will welcome Broadway and West End star Sierra Boggess to the New York cast. Ms. Boggess will play a strictly-limited engagement as leading lady Christine Daaé for 6 weeks through Saturday, March 2. Neil Berg will brings his all new production, 101 Years of Broadway, to the McCallum Theatre for two performances, tonight, January 15 and the 16th at 8:00 pm. 101 Years of Broadway recreates the biggest moments from the finest shows of the century featuring the stars of shows such as The Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables, Evita, Cats,Wonderful Town, Jesus Christ Superstar, and Fiddler on the Roof. According to the New York Times, stage and screen star Chistopher Plummer will be honored with the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center's 13th annual Monte Cristo Award. The presentation will take place on April 15.
