Nashville Rep to Produce Regional Premiere of POSTERITY

Nashville Rep will produce Posterity to run from February 11 - 25, with discounted previews on February 9 and 10. Posterity, by Pulitzer and Tony Award-wining playwright Doug Wright, had its world premiere at Atlantic Theater Company in New York. Nashville Rep's production will be only the second production of this play - and a regional premiere.

Bay Street Theater and Dan's Papers are pleased to present the rekindling of the popular 'Fireside Sessions with Nancy Atlas and a special guest' this January. Due to the snow storm, the January 7 concert with Clark Gayton was rescheduled to Sunday, January 8 at 7 pm. Ticket holders can just bring their January 7 ticket to the January 8 concert or call the box office to reschedule the tickets to either January 14, 21 or 28. These dates will remain at 8 pm. There is also a new date added with Nancy Atlas and Clark Gayton for Thursday, March 23 at 8 pm.

A comedy written by William Shakespeare, A Midsummer Night's Dream portrays the events surrounding the marriage of Theseus, the Duke of Athens, to Hippolyta. These include the adventures of 4 young Athenian lovers and a group of six amateur actors (the mechanicals) who are controlled and manipulated by the fairies who inhabit the forest in which most of the play is set. The play is one of Shakespeare's most popular works for the stage and is widely performed across the world.

Six Playmakers Selected for 2017 Playwrights' Arena at Arena Stage

Six D.C.-area playmakers have been selected to participate in the third installment of Playwrights' Arena, a year-long program that invites a small group of local theater makers to investigate their artistic process and develop their dramaturgical practice. The program is co-facilitated by Arena Stage Deputy Artistic Director Seema Sueko and Dramaturg Jocelyn Clarke, and participants convene once per month at Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater.
