The Drama Desk and Obie Award-winning Keen Company (Jonathan Silverstein - Artistic Director, Mark Armstrong - Keen Teens Producer) will present the Tenth Season of Keen Teens.  This season's offerings will be Thirty Million, a new musical with music and lyrics by Max Vernon; book by Jason Kim, directed by Mark Armstrong, with choreography by Brad Landers and musical direction by Lena Gabrielle; Landlines by Hannah Bos and Paul Thureen, directed by Liz Carlson; and How The Moon Would Talk by Nick Gandiello, directed by Sash Bischoff. Auditions will be February 3rd through 5th. The National Theatre of Great Britain's North American wing (Tim Levy, Producer) in collaboration with Scott Morfee, Jean Doumanian, Tom Wirtshafter, and Patrick Daly have announced the North American premiere of playwright Lucy Prebble's award-winning new play The Effect. With direction by David Cromer, the entirely American production of The Effect will open at the Barrow Street Theatre (27 Barrow Street at 7th Avenue) in March 2016. The Eugene O'Neill Theater Center is now accepting projects for development during the 2016 National Music Theater Conference. Applicants may submit music theater works for consideration through Monday, November 23rd, 2015. The authors of works selected for the 2016 conference will be awarded a two week residency during June or July with a stipend, housing, meals, and transportation to support an intensive rehearsal process and four script-in-hand public readings. John Cullum attended opening night of Fracture Theatre Company's production of URINETOWN, the show for which he originated the role of Caldwell B. Cladwell, then had the theater named after him in ceremonies following the performance. Also in attendance were the show's composer, Mark Hollmann, book writer Greg Kotis ( they collaborated on the lyrics) and Jennifer Laura Thompson, the original Hope Cladwell. Cast gathered on stage as Cullum was presented with a plaque. The two-time Tony-Award winner ( SHENANDOAH, ON THE TWENTIETH CENTURY) saiid watching the show had transported him right back to Urinetown and that of all the theaters he has performed in, this theater, where the show got its start, would be his choice to bear his name.
