BWW Review: MONTY PYTHON'S SPAMALOT at MNM PRODUCTIONSBWW Review: MONTY PYTHON'S SPAMALOT at MNM PRODUCTIONS
by John Lariviere - May 22, 2017

MNM Productions presents Monty Python's Spamalot at the Kravis Center of the Performing Arts. Featuring music by John Du Prez and Eric Idle, and book and lyrics by Eric Idle, Monty Python's Spamalot is a musical comedy lovingly ripped-off from the 1975 film Monty Python and the Holy Grail. The title of the musical comes from a line in the movie which goes: 'we eat ham, and jam, and Spam a lot.' Like the film, written by Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones and Michael Palin, it is a highly irreverent parody of the Arthurian Legend, but it differs from the film in many ways (more...)

BWW Review: THE 39 STEPS - The Art of ClowningBWW Review: THE 39 STEPS - The Art of Clowning
by Keith Waits - Sep 6, 2016

The subject of The 39 Steps isn't an innocent man being chased by spies across Scotland, and it isn't Alfred Hitchcock, although it serves as a fine pastiche of iconic Hitchcock moments. What seems to be on the mind of Patrick Barlow, adapting the 1938 movie more than John Buchan's classic novel, is theatre itself; the nonsensical artificiality that lies at the core of the theatrical experience. It invites us to not just recognize but embrace it in uproarious celebration. (more...)

MONTY PYTHON'S SPAMALOT kommt ans Tiroler Landestheater InnsbruckMONTY PYTHON'S SPAMALOT kommt ans Tiroler Landestheater Innsbruck
by Iris Moebius - Sep 8, 2015

(more...)
