Larry Yando to Lead Goodman Theatre's A CHRISTMAS CAROL

Magic is in the making as rehearsals begin for Goodman Theatre's A Christmas Carol, 'a joyous present for the entire family' (Chicago Sun-Times) and 'ideal family fare, both heartwarming and spectacular in its familiar tale' (Chicago Tribune). Goodman Theatre Associate Producer Steve Scott Steve Scott, who last directed A Christmas Carol in 1992, returns to helm the 34thannual production featuring 13 new cast members, brand new special effects, additional music and choreography. Acclaimed Chicago actor Larry Yando Larry Yando revives his 'stellar!' (Chicago Tribune) performance of Ebenezer Scrooge, his fourth turn since 2007. A Christmas Carol runs November 18 - December 31, 2011 in the Goodman's Albert Theatre. THE PEARL THEATRE COMPANY (J.R. Sullivan, Artistic Director) has announced the company for Shakespeare's drama, RICHARD II. The production, beginning November 8 at New York City Center Stage II, will be directed by J.R. Sullivan and features Sean McNall as Richard II. The twelve member cast features both members of The Resident Acting Company and guest artists who will portray over 30 characters.

Signature Theatre to Feature SATURDAY NIGHT Concert, 10/29-30

For its 22nd season, Signature Theatre is celebrating their signature composer Stephen Sondheim by presenting his very first musical, Saturday Night (1953) as a concert event for four performances only on Saturday, October 29th (2pm and 8pm) and Sunday, October 30th (2pm and 7pm). This rarely performed hidden gem from America's foremost musical theater composer features a book by Julius and Philip Epstein, with music and lyrics - unperformed in full until 1997 - by Sondheim. This special limited engagement will be directed by Signature's Associate Artistic Director Matthew Gardiner (Side by Side by Sondheim, The Hollow) and the Music Director is Jon Kalbfleisch. Limited seating is still available, with single ticket prices at $41 each. Saturday Night will play in Signature's MAX Theatre.
