The Geffen Playhouse today announced the addition of Glen Berger's critically acclaimed play Underneath the Lintel, completing its 2017/2018 season lineup.

After being presented by John Schaefer and WNYC's New Sounds Live at the Merkin Concert Hall, and then traveling the world, the iconoclastic post-modern musical oratorio, "A Night at the Old Marketplace," returns to New York for the premiere of an enhanced full-length version fusing music, projections and storytelling. 

 Today, Madeleine Oldham, director of The Ground Floor: Berkeley Rep's Center for the Creation and Development of New Work, announced the 18 projects accepted into its sixth annual Summer Residency Lab. The projects were chosen from almost 600 submitted applications, the most the program has ever received.

Today in 2011, Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark opened at the Foxwoods Theatre, where it ran for 1066 performances. Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark is a rock musical with music and lyrics by U2's Bono and The Edge and a book by Julie Taymor, Glen Berger, and Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa. The musical is based on the Spider-Man comics created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko, published by Marvel Comics, as well as the 2002 film about the character and the Greek myth of Arachne. lt tells the story of the origin of the character, his romance with Mary Jane and his battles with the evil Green Goblin.

Sloan Foundation, announces the upcoming Sloan Panel Discussion on INCOGNITO, which will be held following tonight's May 17 performance of the play at MTC at New York City Center-Stage I (131 West 55th Street), and is open to anyone attending the evening's performance.

The Town Hall presented From Moses to Mostel: A History of The Jews (According to Musical Theater), a premiere chronological history of the Jewish people as depicted on stage and in song and Broadwayworld was there. Hosted by comedian/actor/singer Robert Klein and written by playwright Glen Berger, From Moses to Mostel also featured musical director Frank London and an ensemble of special guests, including The Klezmatics, performing music from Broadway, off-Broadway, Yiddish Theatre and more.

The Town Hall presents From Moses to Mostel: A History of The Jews (According to Musical Theater), a premiere chronological history of the Jewish people as depicted on stage and in song, today Saturday, February 27 at 8 p.m. Tickets start at $45.

UNDERNEATH THE LINTEL, a fascinating one man show by Glen Berger about a Dutch librarian's quest to find out who returned a library book 113 years late, and BARRYMORE, a recounting of iconic stage idol John BARRYMORE's life and career by William Luce, will be presented on alternating dates at ActorsNET in Morrisville, Pa., from tonight, February 25, until March 20, 2016.

Theatre Y presents "An Impressive Presentation of Lovely Evidences: Underneath the Lintel" by Glen Berger, at Links Hall, 3111 N Western Avenue, on Monday, March 14, 2016, at 7pm. "Lovely Evidences," directed by Melissa Lorraine with Assistant Direction from Jordan Matthew Walsh, and featuring Darren Hill, previewed on September 18, 2015, and has been running weekly with "flash mob" performances around the city of Chicago. Over the years I've learned a tremendous amount about the Jewish religion and its traditions through the plays and people I've come in contact with at The New Jewish Theatre. But, I have to admit that I never knew the story of the 'wandering Jew', although I'd grown up with parents who loved flora and fauna, and often had the plant growing outside that was nicknamed for the tale. I brought my son along with me to see the show because I want him to be well rounded and know as much as he can about the belief systems of all cultures. Glen Berger's wonderful play, UNDERNEATH THE LINTEL, is a sort of detective story that is truly, as artistic director Kathleen Sitzer described it; a testament to faith. It achieved precisely what I had hoped it would do as well by provoking an interesting discussion between my son and I as we talked on the way home. This is a very well done production that provides must-see entertainment, while also giving its audience plenty to ponder.
