PITTSBURGH – A night for the entire family, the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra is hosting two Classical BBQ events in the Heinz Hall Summer Garden on July 11 and August 2.  Each Classical BBQ is filled with orchestral favorites in a fun-filled atmosphere, including pre- and post-concert entertainment and a chance to mingle with Pittsburgh Symphony musicians.

Los Angeles Metropolitan Opera (LAMet), a local community company that offers grand opera in intimate settings and at prices almost anyone can afford, will present Giuseppe Verdi's masterpiece, AIDA, on four dates in June. Tonight, June 6th at 7pm and Sunday, June 7th at 2:30pm, the opera will be performed at Cantwell Auditorium at Saint Monica's Church in Santa Monica.  On Today June 13th at 3pm and Sunday June 14th at 3pm, performances will take place at All Souls Chapel at Good Samaritan Hospital in downtown Los Angeles.

 Inspired by the musical connection of people, place, and culture, Boston Landmarks Orchestra, under the direction of Music Director Christopher Wilkins, announces the 2015 summer's free concerts at the DCR's Hatch Shell. Free concerts will be held every Wednesday evening (7 p.m.) beginning July 15 thru August 26, 2015.  Neighborhood concerts and youth engagement residencies featuring Brazilian composer, pianist and vocalist Clarice Assad continue throughout the summer beginning on July 12 (6 p.m.) at Pinebank Promontory in Jamaica Plain and through August 14 at John F. The LA Opera and Classical KUSC 91.5fm Announce the 2015 Schedule for LA OPERA ON AIR

LA Opera is collaborating with Classical KUSC 91.5fm to produce the ninth consecutive season of LA Opera On Air, a weekly broadcast series of LA Opera performances recorded live at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion. Beginning with Verdi's La Traviata, starring Nino Machaidze and Plácido Domingo at 10am on Saturday, May 16, 2015, the weekly series hosted by KUSC's Duff Murphy will feature five performances from LA Opera's 2014/15 season and a special encore broadcast of Jules Massenet's Thaïs from the 2013/14 season. The series will be broadcast locally on Classical KUSC 91.5fm, its repeater stations (see below) and also streamed live online at KUSC.org.

On Sunday, May 17, at 4 pm at Richardson Auditorium, the Princeton Symphony Orchestra (PSO) presents Viva Verdi!, an opera extravaganza featuring excerpts from Giuseppe Verdi's most popular works and spotlighting gifted young opera stars Michelle Johnson, soprano; Margaret Lattimore, mezzo; Zach Borichevsky, tenor; and Hugh Russell, baritone. Conducted by PSO Music Director Rossen Milanov, the afternoon's selections from Il Trovatore's complicated story of war, revenge and love, La Traviata's portrayal of a soul-searching courtesan, and Aida's tale of impossible love in an exotic setting will serve as a fitting encore to last season's bicentennial celebration of Verdi's birth.
