The Comedians with Disabilities Act (CWDA) makes its debut at SF Sketchfest at the Alameda Comedy Club. This comedy troupe, founded by the late comedian Michael O'Connell, features talented comedians with disabilities sharing their unique perspectives.

What did Aladdin, I had seen the movie one time about 25 years ago with my daughter. I remember little about it, except of course what lived on in memes. Robin Williams was the Genie and Gilbert Gottfried as Iago. I have very little memory of the movie, so my expectations were almost non-existent. Kid’s movie, now a Broadway musical. Got it. Wow, was I in for a treat critic think of ALADDIN at The Overture Center?

Arkansas is saturated with an abundance of talent, whether it be on a theatrical stage, a concert hall, or on the radio. Quite often the talent overlaps from one avenue to the next. This can be said about Radio Royalty Sharpe Dunaway. Though he has switched from radio to videography (you know....video killed the radio star- Trevor Horn, Geoff Downes and Bruce Woolley ca. 1979), Sharpe has a lot of history when it comes to Arkansas entertainment. Broadway World’s favorite MC Blake Woodson sat down with Sharpe to reminisce about all of the Rockstars he has met over the years, but first we wanted to know how he got into videography.  

The founders and contributors of the Comedians with Disabilities Act (CWDA) are about to hit the road for its wildly popular show to span three states: Montana, Oregon and California. They're celebrating Disability Pride month in July, which also happens to coincide with the anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

Tonight, the company of Aladdin on Broadway took a moment at their curtain call to remember comedian and actor Gilbert Gottfried, whom Disney fans fondly remember as the voice of Jafar's sidekick, Iago, in the animated film.

Gottfried voiced the role of Iago the Parrot in Disney's classic animated film Aladdin. He has also been seen in Problem Child, The Aristocrats, Thumbelina, and Animal Crackers. He has also been seen on Saturday Night Live, Saved By the Bell, Fairly Odd Parents, Cyberchase, and more.

Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts has announced a brand new edition of Jokes on Main, its new comedy series featuring the Tri-State's funniest stand-up comedians, Michael Somerville, Motts Pelazza, Joey Callahan, and Bill Chiang on Friday, January 14 at 8:00pm.
