The dynamic introductory host for this 'Love Fest' was Loni Ackerman. 'Song and dance concert to celebrate our 25th Anniversary season (2018 - 2019) and Broadway Cares/Equity fights Aids' (Dancers Over 40 and Friends, 2018). It featured 33 dancers as well as special guests and speakers. Among those memorialized and given special tributes, George Marcy a DO40 board member was eulogized movingly by Carol Lawrence. Ms. Lawrence gave a heartfelt tribute to her mentor, George Marcy. She spoke at length of Marcy's kindnesses and invaluable help within her career. The 'star' quality that Ms. Lawrence possesses shone through as she took the stage and told the audience how very important Mr. Marcy had been in her life. He would be truly missed by her and those who knew him well.

Dancers Over 40 begins the Fall season with We're Still Here! A Song and Dance concert to celebrate it's 25th Anniversary and Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, on Monday, October 15th, 8PM at St. Luke's Theatre, 308 West 46th Street, NYC.

Veteran Broadway performer George Marcy has died.  The lovable actor, singer, dancer died at his home in Las Vegas, NV in May.  

Jen Fellman's critically acclaimed 'FRENCHY - A PARISIAN AFFAIR' has been chosen as part of the prestigious 2017 UNITED SOLO Theatre Festival at Theatre Row, 410 West 42nd Street, NY, on Sunday November 12th, 2pm.

Sixty years ago this month, West Side Story opened on Broadway to become one of the best-loved musicals of all time. To celebrate this historic event, Dancers Over 40 will assemble a spectacular once-in-a-lifetime panel of original cast members nearly to the day of their 1957 debut.

Marilyn D'Honau is not only the youngest surviving cast member of the original production of West Side Story, she was also the youngest when the show opened in 1957. D'Honau was a sixteen- year-old high school senior when she was cast as Clarice, one of the Jet girls. Though she'd been performing professionally since she was twelve, she credits having good ballet training for her successful audition.

Wednesday, March 23rd, DO40 brings together gypsies from many generations (and many who are DO40 members) to celebrate all things Bob Fosse and Gwen Verdon at St. Luke's Theater, 308 West 46th Street, 7pm.  Featured throughout the evening:  Nicole Fosse, Valarie Pettiford, Harvey Evans, Dana Moore, Lloyd Culbreath, Gene Foote, George Marcy, Diana Laurenson, Dick Korthaze, Pam Sousa and Mimi Quillin.  DO40 members Kevin Winkler and John Gilvey are both more than half way through writing their books on this dynamic duo and they will discuss how they came to write about them in a special panel with Nicole Fosse, and a Q & A during the segment.   Winker's book is titled Big Deal: Bob Fosse and Dance in the American Musical, and Gilvey's, Brains and Talent: The Life and Allure of Legendary Entertainer Gwen Verdon.  We are working with the Fosse/Verdon Legacy, LLC to bring you more information on their workshops, and present a moving history, through the eyes (and feet!) of those who knew them best: Broadway dancers.  

Dancers Over 40 (DO40) presents its fourth song and dance concert in association with Labyrinth Dance Theater, DO40 CARES: Come Back Once More So I Can Say Goodbye, to benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and the NYC Anti-Violence Project on Monday, June 8th, 2015.

Just last night, the original Broadway cast of West Side Story visited Carol Lawrence at her current gig, 'Handle with Care' at the Westside Theater. Chita Rivera (who played Anita) and Carol Lawrence (who played Maria) come together again 57 years after the original Tony winning musical hit the great white way in 1957. Kirby Productions presents the New York premiere of RED ANGEL by playwright Eric Bogosian ('Talk Radio,' 'subUrbia') directed by Feliziano Flores with performances beginning February 27 at Theatre Row's Studio Theatre (410 West 42nd Street) in Manhattan.

Making its Off-Broadway debut, Jason Odell Williams' new romantic comedy, Handle With Care, opened last night, December 15th - at The Westside Theatre Downstairs (407 W. 43rd Street) - for an open-run engagement. The show began performances December 3, 2013. Featuring Tony Award Nominee and Broadway Legend Carol Lawrence heading an ensemble cast of four including Charlotte Cohn, Sheffield Chastain, and Jonathan Sale, Handle With Care is directed byKaren Carpenter. Now that the legendary Elaine Stritch and Julie Wilson have retired from performing, the only celebrity 80-plusers who have been performing regularly on the cabaret circuit are the equally legendary Barbara Cook and Marilyn Maye. But now there's another octogenarian on the scene and while he may not be a legend, George Marcy is an 86-year-old former Broadway musical theater actor/dancer who recently staged a totally charming and entertaining show at Don't Tell Mama.

It's one thing for a dancer over 40 to do a cabaret show. It's quite another for a dancer over 80 to attempt one. But that's exactly what still spry 83-year-old song and dance man George Marcy is going to do--tapping his way over to Don't Tell Mama for the second time in three years--when he takes the stage (today September 23 and 29, both at 8pm) for his new show, I Wish I Were Twins. Marcy's latest cabaret effort is being director by famed Broadway Musical star and Marcy's good friend Carol Lawrence. The Musical Director/Pianist is Christine Sutin, with Boots Maleson on bass, and AaRon Russell on drums.
