From 4 to 5 March, Riverside Theatres and the internationally acclaimed Bangarra Dance Theatre present Terrain, a powerful work of contemporary dance and storytelling, by celebrated Aboriginal choreographer Frances Rings. It will be the first time Bangarra has performed in Western Sydney since 2010.

NAISDA dance college will return to Carriageworks, from 25-28 November 2015, to present its end of year production KAMU, directed by Frances Rings. KAMU is the Kala Lagaw Ya word (West Torres Strait Island word) meaning, mangrove flower. 'Like children, the mangrove seeds stay attached to their parent, growing until they are ready to detach and make their salt-water journey onwards' says Frances. 'As Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, we look to the natural world to inspire, regenerate and sustain us. It also increasingly reveals to us significant changes to our surrounding ecology. 'As we head towards the 40th anniversary of NAISDA, KAMU characterises the continued cultivation of cultural values inherent to our foundation and our conscious responsibility towards the health of our land and seas,' concluded Frances. Frances will be joined by Dujon Niue, a NAISDA graduate and the Artistic Director of cultural dance group 'ARPAKA' who has created work for the production. Other notable choreographers include Joel Bray, Ian RT Colless, Penny Mullen, Raymond D. Blanco and Sani Townson.

QPAC and Bangarra Dance Theatre present an exclusive in-conversation event between Stephen Page, Bangarra Dance Theatre's Artistic Director and Professor Judith McLean, Chair in Arts Education, Queensland University of Technology (QUT) and Scholar in Residence, Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) on the Playhouse Stage immediately following the 6.30pm performance of lore on Tuesday 11 August.

As part of its 25th anniversary celebrations in 2014, internationally acclaimed Bangarra Dance Theatre will present Kinship, a breathtaking theatrical experience of contemporary dance by award-winning choreographer Stephen Page, at the Adelaide Festival Centre from Wednesday 22 October until Saturday 25 October 2014.

The nominations for the 2013 Helpmann Awards have been announced simultaneously at events in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Hobart and Perth. This is the first time the Nominations events were held concurrently in 6 cities and a first for Adelaide, Hobart and Perth.

They've all received nominations for the 30th Annual Green Room Awards.

Throughout the year, Adelaide Festival Centre Season 2012 will present over 200 performances and 45 individual shows encompassing music, theatre, dance, circus, 10 exhibitions, with 11 forums and workshops and seven films. It includes two world premieres, six Australian premieres and four performances exclusive to Adelaide. The program features artists and companies from across Australia and the globe including the UK, Russia, the United States, New Zealand, France, Croatia and China.

The annual Helpmann Awards® recognise distinguished artistic achievement and excellence in the many disciplines of Australia's vibrant live performance sectors, including musical theatre, contemporary music, comedy, opera, classical music, theatre, dance and physical theatre. The Helpmann Awards also incorporates the JC Williamson Award for outstanding contribution to the Australian live performance industry.

The Green Room Awards took place at The Famous Spiegeltent in Melbourne last night, and global favorite MARY POPPINS led the night with a total of nine awards out of its twelve nominations. Yana Alana and the Paranas in Concert, a cabaret production, was a close second for total awards with six out of eight cabaret awards.
