Two River Theater’s highly celebrated Crossing Borders (Cruzando Fronteras) Festival of new plays by Latinx playwrights is set to take place August 4 – 7, 2022 in Two River’s Joan and Robert Rechnitz Theater.

Mark your calendar! Destinos, 5th Chicago International Latino Theater Festival, will return with a big splash, live and in-person, September 14-October 16, 2022.

The 24 Hour Plays: Viral Monologues will return on Tuesday, September 14th, with an all new series of unforgettable performances. Sixteen actors have been paired with writers who have crafted unique pieces especially for them. From 6 PM until 10 PM, new monologues will be published every 15 minutes.  

Since 2011, Two River Theater has introduced new voices from across the country to their annual Crossing Borders (Cruzano Fronteras) Festival of new plays by Latinx playwrights. This year’s playwrights explore stories about family history, computer science, teens navigating the “new normal”, and a makeshift family arriving at the cusp of the 22nd century.

The FREE half-day virtual event will take place on Friday, March 12th from 9am - 12pm PST / 12pm – 3pm EST. The multi-platform live virtual event is created and produced by NGL Studios.

Two River Theater announces the lineup for its 9th annual Crossing Borders (Cruzando Fronteras) festival of plays and music by Latinx theater artists. The summer festival will take place August 1-4 and will include free readings of new plays, live music and conversations with artists.

Cara Mia Theatre's 24th anniversary season will be the most diverse and inclusive season in the company's history, according to Executive Artistic Director David Lozano.
