The New Group has announced additional guests for post-show talkbacks at The Sensuality Party, with playwrights Thomas Bradshaw (Burning, Intimacy) and Erika Sheffer (Russian Transport) joining in the conversation at Brooklyn College following the 7:00pm performances on May 2 and May 3, respectively, and Wallace Shawn (Aunt Dan and Lemon, The Fever, Marie and Bruce) joining at LaGuardia Community College following the 2:30pm performance on May 11.

Performances begin tonight for The Sensuality Party, a new play by Justin Kuritzkes, presented by The New Group as part of the company's 2015-2016 season. The New Group proudly presents The Sensuality Party as part of its 2015-2016 season. This New York premiere of a new play by Justin Kuritzkes was developed through The New Group's New Group/New Works play development program. Directed by Danya Taymor, this production will play 18 performances only at college campuses across all five boroughs of New York City, with venues including Brooklyn College, LaGuardia Community College, Gallatin School (New York University), Baruch College, Lehman College, Pace University NYC Campus, Pace University Westchester Campus and the College of Staten Island. Full casting was announced today for In The Secret Sea, a new American play by Cate Ryan (The Picture Box) and directed by Tony Award© winner Martin Charnin (Annie). The cast will feature Shelly Burch (original company of Nine, 'One Life to Live'), Paul Carlin (Temporal Powers at the Mint), Malachy Cleary (The Field at Irish Repertory Theatre), Glynnis O'Connor (TV's Our Town, 'The Boy in the Plastic Bubble'), and Adam Petherbridge (Da at Irish Repertory Theatre).

Today in 1994, Passion opened at the Longacre Theatre, where it ran for 97 performances. Passion is a musical with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and a book by James Lapine. The story was adapted from Ettore Scola's film Passione d'Amore. Passion is notable for being one of the few projects that Stephen Sondheim himself conceived, along with Sweeney Todd and Road Show. Set in 19th century Italy, the plot concerns a young soldier and the changes in him brought about by the obsessive love of Fosca, his Colonel's homely, ailing cousin.

On Sunday, December 7 at 2:00 p.m. in Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage, Carnegie Hall presents Teatro Regio Torino in a concert performance of Rossini's opera Guglielmo Tell (William Tell) conducted by Gianandrea Noseda and sung in Italian by an outstanding cast that includes baritone Dalibor Jenis in the title role, tenor John Osborn as Arnoldo, and soprano Angela Meade as Matilde. The concert is part of the opera company's first-ever North American tour, with stops in Chicago, Ann Arbor, and Toronto.

Known for their international vision of new plays, The Play Company (PlayCo) is pleased to announce that Working on a Special Day, their 2013 co-production with Mexico City's Por Piedad Teatro, has gone on to a series of international engagements, including the Edinburgh Fringe (August 2013), Singapore's M1 Festival (January 2014) and the Adelaide Fringe Festival (February 2014 - Winner, Peace Foundation Award). After an award-winning engagement at the Prague Fringe Festival (May 2014 winner the Performance Award and the Creative Award) the play returns to the U.S. for a run at the Barrington Stage Company in Pittsfield, Massachusetts; June 18-July 6. The touring life of this play marks a new level of international exchange in PlayCo's pioneering mission to support a global approach to contemporary theatre.
