Jeffrey Carlson, Star of TABOO and THE GOAT, Has Passed Away at 48

According to various reports, Jeffrey Carlson, best known for originating the role of Marilyn in TABOO and Billy in Edward Albee's THE GOAT on Broadway, has passed away. He was 48.

After an acclaimed run in London's West End, the Sheen Center for Thought & Culture presents the American premiere production of Stephen Unwin's new play, All Our Children. Now playing in a limited five-week engagement through May 12 at The Sheen Center (18 Bleecker Street at the corner of Elizabeth Street, NYC) in the Black Box Theater. The official opening is Sunday, April 14 at 3PM.

Tony Award® winner John Glover (Saint Joan, The Drowsy Chaperone,Love! Valour! Compassion! on Broadway; TV's 'Smallville') is featured in a company including Jennifer Dundas (The Little Foxes, Arcadia on Broadway), Karl Kenzler (Fiddler on the Roof, You Can't Take It With You on Broadway; 'Law & Order,' 'House of Cards'), Tasha Lawrence ('The Looming Tower,' Hulu; 'Royal Pains') and Sam Lilja (The Iceman Cometh on Broadway). The Sheen Center for Thought & Culture has announced its 2018 Fall/Winter season, a rich program of theater, film, music, poetry, art, and talk events featuring artists and thought leaders including Princeton professors Cornel Westand Robert P. George; Grammy Award winner George Winston; two-time Tony Award nominee, Grammy nominee, and author Reg E. Gaines; Pulitzer Prize, Tony Award and Oscar-winning writer and director John Patrick Shanley; Pulitzer Prize winning poet Sharon Olds; the Tony-nominated star of Harry Potter & The Cursed Child, Jamie Parker;Suzzy Roche and Lucy Wainwright Roche with special guests The Indigo Girls; Benedictine nun and former Hollywood leading lady Mother Dolores Hart, O.S.B.; Cardinal Timothy Dolan, Archbishop of New York; and events tackling topical national themes including civility on college campuses; police and refugee relations; and race, faith and identity politics.  

Corkscrew Theater Festival Opens With THE END OF MERMAIDS, Dark Comedy Set In Failing Mermaid Theme Park

Corkscrew Theater Festival presents the world premiere of The End of Mermaids, written by Anya Richkind and directed by Allison Benko. Running July 12-22, The End of Mermaids is a sinister comedy about a group of women striving to achieve true beauty through their performances at a failing mermaid theme park, while under siege from an impatient, hungry alligator. The play includes several 'underwater performance' sequences, brought to life by inventive set, costume, lighting, and sound design. Performed by Isabella Dawis, Elizabeth Evans, Lindsey Spohler, and Maggie Thompson*, The End of Mermaids kicks off the second annual season of Corkscrew Theater Festival, a new summer theater festival that provides early-career artists with a high level of production support.

Community College of Baltimore County presents Migration, an original dance production created by internationally known choreographer and CCBC alumnus Peter Pucci as part of the Baltimore Stories Performing Arts series at CCBC. The premiere of Migration will be performed on Jan. 28 at 2 p.m. at CCBC Essex, Wellness and Athletics Center, as Pucci returns to his Baltimore roots with a dance production exploring the interconnectedness of the human experience.
