The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts welcomes chart-topping folk-rock duo, the Indigo Girls, to Verizon Hall on Sunday, April 12 at 7:30p.m. With a legacy of hit releases and thousands of touring miles behind them, Amy Ray and Emily Saliers have forged their own musical path. Singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and activist Seth Glier has been consistently honing his craft over the course of his young career, leading up to the April 7th release of his latest album, 'If I Could Change One Thing' (MPress). Glier has hit the road in advance of 'If I Could Change One Thing' with three dates with American Idol's Crystal Bowersox, which began on February 2nd in Nashville, TN. Legendary British musician and songwriter Mark Knopflercelebrates upcoming album release, Tracker (Verve Records, March 17), with announcement of 36-city North American tour including Philadelphia stop at the Academy of Music on October 17 at 8 p.m. Knopfler's 2015 North American Tour kicks off in Vancouver on September 10 and continues through the end of October. Multiple Grammy award winner as the lead vocalist and songwriter for Dire Straits, Mark Knopfler has released seven solo albums as well as recording Neck And Neck with one of his guitar heroes, Chet Atkins and collaborated with Emmylou Harris on All The Roadrunning. He has created soundtracks for Local Hero and The Princess Bride and is currently working on a new film, Altamira. In addition to producing his own records Knopfler has also produced albums for Bob Dylan and Randy Newman amongst others. He was made an OBE in 1999 and was given the prestigious “Lifetime Achievement Award” at the Ivor Novellos in 2012.

Festival General Director Nigel Redden has today announced the program for the 39th annual Spoleto Festival USA, taking place May 22 through June 7, 2015. Held in Charleston, South Carolina, the Festival includes the world premiere of the opera Paradise Interrupted composed by Huang Ruo and designed and directed by visual artist Jennifer Wen Ma, the American premiere and first performances in over 350 years of Francesco Cavalli's baroque opera Veremonda, l'amazzone di Aragona, and the first US performances of a new production of Romeo and Juliet by Shakespeare's Globe directed by the company's Artistic Director Dominic Dromgoole and Tim Hoare.
