The 50-member Dessoff Choirs begins its 97th season with the New York premiere of Considering Matthew Shepard by Craig Hella Johnson. 

The Dessoff Choirs today announced its 2021-22 season. Marking its first live, in-person performance in almost two years, The Dessoff Choirs kick- starts its 97th season with the New York premiere of Considering Matthew Shepard co- directed by WQXR's Elliott Forrest and Rod Caspers.

In collaboration with Peabody Award winning broadcaster, producer, and director Elliott Forrest (WQXR), Myles Aronowitz, photographer and filmmaker, and internationally-exhibited photographer and environmental activist J Henry Fair, this cinematic experience transports listeners to a still, meditative space.

Kent Tritle's 2021-22 season schedule features a full slate of events: he leads five concerts at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine with the Cathedral Choir, four with Oratorio Society of New York, four with Musica Sacra, and three with groups at the Manhattan School of Music.

The Public Theater and WNYC Studios will debut the bilingual audio adaptation of Romeo y Julieta on Thursday, March 18. Featuring Lupita Nyong’o and Juan Castano as the star-crossed lovers, this world premiere production has been adapted by Saheem Ali and Ricardo Pérez González, based on the Spanish translation by Alfredo Michel Modenessi.

NYACK CENTER'S 25TH ANNUAL MUSIC AND READINGS IN A HOLIDAY SPIRIT at The Nyack Center

WQXR, New York City’s classical music station, today announced Beethoven Immortal, five days of special programming exploring the legacy of Ludwig van Beethoven, in honor of his 250th birthday. The festival airs Saturday, December 12 - Wednesday, December 16. 

The Public Theater announced an array of free programming has been added to The Public's digital season. Though its physical stages remain dark, the additional virtual programming will include a bilingual audio adaptation of Romeo y Julieta co-presented with WNYC Studios featuring Lupita Nyong'o and Juan Castano as the star-crossed lovers.

ArtsRock will present world-class pianist, Simone Dinnerstein, for a live-streamed performance of music from her latest album, A Character of Quiet, featuring works by Franz Schubert and Philip Glass. Hosted by Dinnerstein’s longtime friend, Robin Quivers, the concert streams live from Union Arts Center this Sunday, November 15th at 2pm ET, and will be available on demand through November 20th.
