La Jolla Playhouse has announced the first four productions of its 2022/2023 season. The season will also include a re-imagined classic to be co-directed by Tony Award winner Christopher Ashley, the Rich Family Artistic Director of La Jolla Playhouse, and Helen Hayes Award winner Will Davis, as well as a new musical.

La Jolla Playhouse has announced that Eric Keen-Louie, who joined the Playhouse in 2018 as Producing Director, will take on the new role of Executive Producer at the Theatre. As lead producer, Keen-Louie will collaborate with Playhouse staff to oversee assembling creative teams, casting, production budgets, and artistic development.  

During this time when productions all over the world have been put on pause, we are coming together to celebrate plays that have left their mark on theater history.This week we will be focusing on the plays of Pulitzer Prize winning playwright, Tennessee Williams. Today's play, The Night of the Iguana!

Commissioned by the Playhouse, The Coast Starlight runs August 20 - September 15 (press opening: Sunday, August 25 at 7:00pm) in the Sheila and Hughes Potiker Theatre.

La Jolla Playhouse has announced that Jeanna de Waal will portray the title role in its upcoming world-premiere musical Diana, by the Tony Award-winning Memphis team of Joe DiPietro (book and lyrics) and David Bryan (music and lyrics), directed by Playhouse Artistic Director and 2017 Tony Award winner Christopher Ashley and choreographed by Tony nomineeKelly Devine. The production will run February 19 - March 31, 2019 in the Playhouse's Mandell Weiss Theatre. The complete cast and creative team will be announced at a later date.
