As BroadwayWorld sadly reported yesterday, stage and screen actor Doreen Montalvo has died at age 56. The news came after Montalvo suffered a stroke earlier this month. Today, we remember Doreen with a small collection of her past performances.

Fountain Hills Theater Hosts a Broadway Quarantine Cabaret

The Fountain Hills Theater complex, located in Arizona's Phoenix valley area, officially stopped live performances four weeks ago due to CDC and state and local guidelines regarding the COVID-19 pandemic. Their production of the farce Footlight Frenzy was halted mid-run and an additional four more shows (which were in the rehearsal/planning stages) were also cancelled. This became the official end of their 2019-20 season, a full two months earlier than was planned. The safety of patrons, actors, volunteers, and staff remains their top priority during this time.

Joe's Pub, a program and venue of The Public Theater, has announced the new class of Joe's Pub Working Group (JPWG), the venue's artist development program dedicated to enhancing the career sustainability and growth of performing artists. Entering its sixth year, JPWG welcomes five artists - cabaret artist Salty Brine, vocalist and composer Sarah Elizabeth Charles, musician and musical theater composer Jaime Lozano, Indian classical and crossover vocalist Roopa Mahadevan, and singer-songwriter Kirsten Maxwell - into the group, which represents the diversity and scope of the nightly programming at Joe's Pub.
